About

TrafficWave SimLab turns traffic flow into an interactive visual laboratory. Create traffic experiments, change driver behavior, trigger sudden braking, and watch congestion waves move backward through traffic. Explore why traffic jams can form even without an accident, roadblock, or visible cause. Designed for students, educators, simulation enthusiasts, and anyone curious about traffic behavior, TrafficWave SimLab combines animated vehicles, live measurements, charts, reports, and replay tools. SINGLE-LANE TRAFFIC LAB Run vehicles around a circular road and observe how small disturbances create stop-and-go traffic waves. Experiment with: • Vehicle count • Speed limit • Following distance • Driver response behavior • Simulation speed • Manual braking events Choose from Phantom Traffic, Slow Driver, Distracted Drivers, and Smart Stabilizer scenarios. Smart Stabilizer shows how one smoothly controlled vehicle can reduce sudden braking, stabilize following distances, and help traffic waves disappear. MULTI-LANE TRAFFIC LAB Explore highway behavior with two- and three-lane simulations. Watch vehicles: • Change lanes automatically • Overtake slower traffic • React to trucks • Merge before lane closures • Navigate zipper-merge situations • Form queues near bottlenecks Adjust vehicle count, lane count, truck ratio, speed limit, and driver aggressiveness to create different conditions. LIVE TRAFFIC ANALYSIS Follow key traffic measurements while the simulation is running: • Average speed • Minimum speed • Traffic density • Stopped vehicles • Estimated traffic flow • Queue length • Lane changes Switch between live charts to see how each event affects traffic. Braking, wave formation, the first stopped vehicle, and traffic recovery are marked directly on the charts. COMPARE TWO EXPERIMENTS Run two traffic simulations at the same time and compare their results on a shared timeline. Compare: • Human drivers and smart vehicles • Short and long following distances • Low and high speed limits • Calm and aggressive drivers • Light and dense traffic See both experiments on separate graph lines and receive a report showing which setup produced smoother traffic. CHALLENGE MODE Complete traffic challenges and earn up to three stars. Try to: • Prevent vehicles from stopping • Reduce congestion with a smart vehicle • Maintain flow with high vehicle density • Recover quickly after a braking event • Reach a target traffic-flow rate • Minimize sudden-braking effects Your best results and earned stars are saved automatically. DETAILED REPORTS Finish an experiment to receive a report with: • Flow score • Speed results • Congestion level • Stopped-vehicle count • Traffic-flow charts • Event markers • Automatic experiment analysis Create visual report images and share results with friends, students, or colleagues. REPLAY STUDIO Rewatch completed experiments using recorded vehicle positions. Move through the timeline, jump to important traffic events, and inspect how the road and graph changed at any moment. EXPERIMENT HISTORY AND SAVED PRESETS Save experiment results and return to them later. You can: • Reopen previous reports • Replay recorded experiments • Save custom traffic configurations • Run the same setup again • Compare two saved experiments • Export report data TrafficWave SimLab works offline and does not require an account, subscription, or internet connection. Whether you are studying traffic flow, demonstrating congestion in a classroom, or experimenting with vehicle behavior, TrafficWave SimLab offers a clear and engaging way to explore how traffic waves begin, spread, and disappear. TrafficWave SimLab is an educational simulation tool and is not intended for professional road design, traffic-control decisions, or transportation safety planning.
