Fantastic guide to the Lycian way!
This app was such a useful guide for our time on the Lycian way, would highly recommend to anyone. The segment descriptions and elevation profiles were very useful in planning, and the accommodation and food/facilities information was invaluable.

This is a GREAT App. Incredibly useful tool for navigating on the Lycian Way. We would have been literally lost without it. The additional info (highlights, town info etc) really helped us plan ahead, and added to our enjoyment of the trail. Some of the additional info is written with a lovely, dry sense of humour which I thoroughly enjoyed.
You are crazy if you don’t get this if you are planning to do one of the included hikes.

Terrible UI making the app virtually unusable.
Super helpful for the Lycian Way
We would literally have been lost without this app on several occasions when walking the Lycian Way. Where the path is indistinct and you miss it, the app guides you back onto it. And there is lots of useful info on places to stay and whether there are eating options along the route, with contact details.

Indispensable app for Camino Primitivo
I have used the app constantly while walking the Camino Primitivo in May 2022. It has all the info you will need, starting from viewing the “Elevation Profile” for your next daily stages (that you can screenshot and save in photos or file for quick access) to the “Waypoints and Highlights” identifying landmarks (such as medieval ruins etc) and highlighting not-to miss needed stops for snacks/refreshments or water fountains, well tagged with miles-to-go so you can pace yourself and recharge, all the necessary data to make you better prepared for your Camino. My preferred tool is the Compass that will guide you to follow the yellow star and keep you on track without fail. The albergues listing and live links including their specific offerings (cost per night in dormitories or single rooms) come in very handy when you decide to call it a day and find your refuge for the night. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the attention and quick support provided by the developer Eugene. Thanks for your detailed research and well designed app.

This App is all you need for your Camino Way trip or any other trail. We tried them all and this app and it’s support blew us away! The app is accurate and easy. It offers alternative routes, distances, compass, hotels and restaurants in the area, and much more. I cannot say enough about it. Truly a blessing as we traveled! Everything you need for the Lycian Way
Really great app! Has everything from the detailed map (with any alternative routes and very precise GPS tracking (we could walk 2m down a junction and see if we’d taken the right path)), all accomodation options with phone numbers and (very) recent hikers’ experiences/prices and detailed instructions for path finding for each stretch of the trail. Didn’t need to use any other apps and could plan the next day’s hike and accommodation very easily from it

Best Camino App
Walked from Lisbon to Santiago in August 2019. This app saved us more than once. Shared it with everyone we met and everyone loved it. It’s the App I would recommend to everyone. The compass will always lead you to the trail. Love, love, loved it. Best ever
Must use for Lycian Way and other treks
In short, TrailSmart is an incredible app with features that kept us 1. On the right trail 2. Safe on the trail and 3. Prepared mentally and physically for what was to come. The Trekopedia team provided real-time support when we had questions about the app content or when I had feedback to offer (email response within a couple of hours). I will be using TrailSmart for all my future long-distance hiking!
My husband and I just finished walking the Lycian Way from Fethiye to Hisarcandir. This is an excellent but in many places rugged trail, and we could not have done it (or any of its sections) without TrailSmart. The features we used most often were:
- trail map with GPS tracker
- “magical yellow arrow” aka compass feature which always points to the next GPS point, helping us decide which way to turn when other indicators are unclear
- elevation profile (with GPS capability displaying your current elevation)
- water sources identified along the trail including status updates
- details of lodging and campsites including location and amenities
- communicating with the Trekopedia Team via email and the app “feedback” button was like having a Trail Angel whenever I connected to WiFi
There is a learning curve to familiarize yourself with the app and how to access all of its features, which the “getting started” section in the app facilitates.
For do-it-yourself trekkers, the cost of downloading the map (or free for all of the other features) is a worthy investment to access this compilation of professional and crowd-sourced wisdom. We are eternal fans of TrailSmart, and can’t wait for our next long-distance walk to use it again!

Great Camino App
I found the app via reviews on a Camino forum. So the data sets I used were for the Camino Frances.
Map integration is great. Got me out a hole on quite a few times (when the yellow arrows were pointing the wrong way or weren’t visible or I’d just got up too early and it was pitch black!) - just tap on the centre arrow and the blue dot is yourself and then easy to navigate back to the route.
Finding hostels was a breeze, you can see what’s up ahead on the map and then tap on the hostel icons on the map and see a description to help you choose.
It’s great to have the knowledge base right there on your phone not requiring data. (3/4G isn’t always there on the Camino!)
TrailSmart are quick to respond to queries and are very helpful.

Best Camino Francés app
Hands down the best app out there if you’re new to the Camino. You don’t need the maps, this app lets you know every turn and albergue. I just did my first Camino and i have to say, i used this app every day and just threw away the book i had. The albergue list is perhaps the best feature. If you’re new to the Camino and are worried about how it will be, trust in yourself that you’ll be fine and use this app, everyone I met on the Camino switched to it once I showed them, and it’s free. You’ll see when you get out there what I mean

I wasn’t aware of this amazing resource until just before I left to walk my third Camino , the Portugues
Some friends recommended TrailSmart and I downloaded it before I left Canada
I have to say this resource is a gift in every sense of the word. It was extremely helpful for me along the way to Santiago and beyond to the Atlantic Ocean
My future ambitions include walking the Coast to Coast in the UK, and perhaps the Via de la Plata. Hopefully TrailSmart will continue to develop and cover these routes although I understand that the huge task of developing these maps is done on a volunteer basis

Couldn’t have done without it
Just finished the Lycian Way and TrailSmart was absolutely critical in making it through. The content was up to date and the path accurate. Brilliant app and I’ll use it for the other walks that they have bundled.

I used this app when hiking the Lycian Way. It was absolutely invaluable and I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone. The map feature kept us on track (or got us out of trouble when lost). There is detailed information on the specific details of different sections was useful for both planning and also while hiking. Info such as places of interest, markets, and the location of wells and water sources was precise and almost always up to date (despite wells drying us and changes in track conditions these were almost always listed/updated). TrailSmart made the trek more enjoyable (we got more out of it with insider tips and tricks) and less stressful (knowing where wells were located or markets to pick up food). I would highly recommend and will use for all future hiking endeavours.

I used this for the Camino and found it to be excellent. It was the only guide I needed saving weight which is important, but the functionality is what gets it five stars.
I downloaded the map and database to have it even when off line which was the best thing to do. Cost was cheaper than any guide book which was nice.
Highly recommend. I will be using it whenever I can in future adventures.
I have just uploaded the new version which has all the qualities from before but now with a much simpler and clearer presentation.

Superb
This app is a successor to the brilliant TrekRight Camino Frances app which is simply outstanding. I first used on my tenth Camino and found the offline map with geolocation and other functions exceptionally useful. The other information on terrain, accommodation etc is good. There is no better app available to my knowledge.
