Major Glitch

Wanted to love this app but there is a major glitch where the timer continues to run at the top of my screen even after a training session is completed and even STILL after I have swiped up and closed the app. There’s no way to get it to go away without deleting the app entirely

Needs some UX help!

Please make it to where you do not have to manually delete the placeholder text “How did it go?” for every single entry!! Extremely tedious and annoying. Also please make it where when typing entries, that the screen scrolls farther up so that the button CTA’s don’t cover up where you’re typing and you can’t see it! Please make it where you can restart/uncheck a session as well, that’s ridiculous to not let you do that when trying to get the hang of anxiety training! You’re trying to start a timer, switch to a different app for a camera view, and then back again all within a matter of seconds, and sometimes that doesn’t go smoothly (or you get interrupted) and you need to start over. And when asking you how the sessions went, the dog icon for the “not great” status is empty/not showing up. Finally, if you have said a session did not go great, the app still increases your time for the next session, even though you are obviously not ready to increase the time if things didn’t go great for the previous session! So you have to manually adjust that each time as well. Please think through the UX of this app better! - Sincerely, a UX designer and dog mom

Response from developer

Hi hpandloki, Update: please have a look at the latest version, in which we have implemented many of your suggestions. If you feel it better meets your needs, we would really appreciate you updating your rating! Thanks in advance — Susannah

Works ok

This works fairly well as a way of planning and tracking separation anxiety training. Not all the features work that well for example the end session button doesn’t work so it’s hard to stop the session at the right point if your dog is struggling to complete the training that time.

Subscription: where is the value?

So I’ve a 3yrs old pup with separation anxiety. I’ve used the method promoted by this app in the past and it worked well. Only I started working from home and after 2 years it’s all to start over again. Thought this app would make the process “funnier” but it ask for sub the first time you launch it. So while I was expecting to pay some bucks (a one time payment) I find it abusive to ask for sub for such a simple method that you can well do all by yourself. The price of this sub is pretty high also, and I’m hardly seeing any plus value as the devs didn’t even bother posting on Instagram for one year and a half — so I wouldn’t expect new video contents and such from the app itself. On their website there is still a video from 2023 stating that the app is still a work in progress, we are a month from 2025 at the time of writing this.

Now I understand that devs must be able to make a living of their work, but I do think the business model isn’t adapted to this app.

Anw, I’m uninstalling it, I’ll do the training on my own as it’s super easy. Trick: if your work schedule changes, don’t just suppose that you pup is still gonna be ok, repeat the exercises sometimes.

Instructions would be helpful

I think instructions on how to use the app would be really helpful.

If the instructions in the app are not enough, we have a video and a intro guide on the app's homepage at https://calmmydog.app/. Check them out. If you need further help, write to our support at support@apparentsoft.com
