Money-grabbing slop

The app ran an entire survey on how i use public transport, my life situation and where i heard about the app, for no given reason, without an option to opt out, then asked to rate it before the onboarding was even over, which breaks Apple‘s guidelines too. Then it hit me with a subscription prompt without ever letting me see what the app does. And then finally in the app, that works in just a few cities, it doesn’t show you more than two future departures without paying a subscription (any free map app can do that).

I simply felt insulted by it, as a public transit enthusiast and developer myself.

Response from developer

Thanks for trying the app! Our goal is to make getting around the city simpler and more enjoyable. :) Catch is free to use. Some additional features (such as departures on Apple Watch, Live Activities, widgets...) are available through an optional subscription, which helps us continue developing the app. If you’d like, feel free to email me at ondrej@tramoji.com. I’d be happy to talk more about it. Ondra

Almost perfect

Vaše aplikace je s každým vydáním lepší a lepší. Je skvělé, že jste se rozšířili i mimo Českou republiku. Proč jste ale měnili tak pěknou ikonu aplikace za tak nevýraznou?

Response from developer

Díky moc za review, vážíme si toho!:) Bylo potřeba upravit aplikaci i branding právě kvůli zahraničí. Co dávalo smysl v Česku už tolik nefungovalo venku. Ale věřím, že to ještě posuneme! Ondra

So fast it’s wild

Honestly surprised by how accurate this is. Open it, your train or bus is right there with real-time arrivals. Works great for both the L and buses which not every app gets right.

Best CTA App for Daily Chicago Life 🚆

Tramoji has become one of my go-to apps for getting around Chicago, especially using the CTA. The real-time tracking is solid and actually reliable, which is huge when you’re trying to catch a train or bus without wasting time.

What I like most is how simple and fast it is. You open the app, and it gives you exactly what you need—no clutter, no confusion. It’s especially helpful if you’re riding lines like the Pink or Orange and need quick updates on arrivals.

Compared to other transit apps, this one feels more focused and practical. It’s great for everyday commuters, people using CTA on a budget, or anyone who depends on public transit to move around the city efficiently.

Only thing I’d improve is adding a few more features like route planning or alerts, but overall it does its main job really well.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Simple, reliable, and perfect for Chicago transit users.
