Lacks Spanish (Mexico) and Conversation History
After all of these years this app existed, it’s baffling that Apple decided not to capitalize on Spanish for Mexico, or the other variations that cover Central America and South America. They only have Spanish from Spain, which doesn’t make sense with today’s standards. Another questionable feature, or lack of, is the non-ability to look up previous translated texts. Yeah, let’s just discard translated conversations immediately… it’s ridiculous. They might as well take this app off the store already, or modernize it with features that matter.

Keeps stop translating (French to English) although the conversation is in progress and I did not end it, when starting again it translates in few seconds and then same thing. It used to be ok like a month ago that I used it..

Broken.
It is impossible to download any of the languages to use off-line on my iPhone or my watch. I talked to an Apple advisor for about half an hour. We went through all the steps. Nothing works would’ve been really nice to have to use this and not pay for it like I will on a different Translator app, but I’m gonna just go to Microsoft because at least they will have their stuff together

Please add the other Spanish dialects to the app. The translations are hard to carry on the conversation and need the speakers to explain what they mean

Gender
When you talk in language that has gendered terms, Apple Translate assumes you are a male and doesn't even let you change this
When will Bangla/Bengali be available?
I recently found a social post on TikTok or Instagram that praised this app as an alternative to Google Translate.
I know message translations from iMessages and other apps don’t work on iPhone as Bengali and Bangla aren’t available. It means, I must copy and paste these to Google Translate, ChatGPT or Claude to get the context of these. As this is a translation app, it’s disappointing that Hindi and Arabic are there but not Bengali or Urdu.
To truly be an app that replaces Google Translate more languages must be added!

No Romanian language
Romanian is advertised as one of the translation languages but it is not there. I uninstall immediately.
Pinyin not displayed
The app worked fine for about two months. Then the pinyin for Chinese stopped showing. Only characters were displayed. A few weeks later pinyin was displayed with the characters. Two months later pinyin disappeared. The pinyin is what I need to speak and pronounce what I’m trying to say. Can’t figure out how to get pinyin showing again.
