bad app
Not only is the app extremely limited, the mobile site is also extremely poorly made. Basically unusable on the phone.
Schools should be ashamed to use this.
This has to be the cheapest program a school could use. That’s the only explanation I can think of for how awful this app is. Any school using it is likelyan expensive one, and they should be ashamed to send an invite to parents to use this app as a representation of their school.
Horrible tech
This app does nothing, do not purchase this tech for your school. If I were a school I would consider looking at different apps (brightwheel). Checkin took 6 clicks and there was a line that never existed before to check your kids in.
Broken, use browser instead
Use the web browser, add the web page as a home page app instead.

Come on, guys! This works perfectly on the browser, but the app is useless!! I can't believe you haven't been able to incorporate the same features in the browser into the app, especially when developing an app like this is not rocket science. I honestly hope the developers can do it.
Limited functionality; poor utility
It was, in 2024, a limited way to see and download photos posted by teachers. Since an update in 2025 it is a limited way to see photos and a terrible way to download them.
Web view doesn’t work
This is a simple web wrapper app of their website. It does not work correctly, and so you can only navigate to the top sections. If you click on your kid, you can’t see the menu bar to go to things like progress, photos, portfolio, daily tracking,…. So, the app is useless.
What is the point?!?!?!
I am a Montessori Teacher. I want to use this app on my iPad and have access to the Progress and plan tabs, to the conference reports we create for our students, and to the lessons I plan. I want to be able to jot down notes, etc. BUT NONE OF THIS IS AVAILABLE!

HOME, ACTIVITY, PHOTOS AND ABOUT.
The Progress and Plan tabs as well as the Children Tabs are the most important. Please update so I can use it.

Not very user friendly
I wanted to have the convenience of an app to check my kids school progress but I was only able to somehow find the correct page once and haven’t found it since. The functionality is very limited and if more things were readily accessible and visible I wouldn’t have any issues with this app.

This app is awful. I can sign in online, but it will not accept the same information on the app. Then I chose to hide my information and there it is in full display. I can’t believe that with these terrible reviews schools continue to use this. Awful.
Phone application
I’m very disappointed in the update for the app. I much preferred the previous version - and even it was severely lacking. Uploading photos is now clunky, frustrating, and time-consuming. I love the capability when working on the laptop, but that is not always ideal. I love Transparent Classroom- I hope there can be some fixes to the app.

PRIVACY VIOLATED
Although I checked the box to hide my cell phone and address, when I looked at the ‘Parents’ tab, there it was on full display. Along with the other parents who recorded their address and cell phones. I know they weren’t there when I initially signed up and the box to ‘hide’ was still checked so this happened sometime during the school year.

This app is half baked. Use the website version.
I’m disappointed in this app and the fact that our school uses it. As other reviewers have said, the functionality is extremely limited. You’re only able to see basic news updates from the school and photos. There are no notifications, attendance and program records, or additional information that you’ll find on the website version. this app is effectively pointless. You are better off, adding a bookmark to your home screen that points to the mobile web version which will give you the information that you should have in the app. I don’t know why the developers have not added the same functionality to their mobile app as their web-based version but until they do, I cannot in good faith, recommend this app for parents.

No daily tracking
Not sure why it would be challenging to add daily tracking but without it this app is mostly useless.
What happened to the older version of this app?
I currently have the older version of the app on my phone and have just downloaded the new one. What was the point of the newer version of an app when you can’t upload any photos with it? The website says you can but only on the older version? A redundant waste of time and resources IMO.
Very bad
It is sad that this app is what our schools is using (I guess there are no alternatives?). The app does not even let you see all updates the teacher shares. Generally have to go online to see any daily tracking and notes from the teachers. The teachers also seem to have issues uploading pictures and other updates as well. After a week of use I am deeply disappointed in the way I receive updated about my child.

Really wish it would work
Logging on was fine, but when I navigated to the home page, it turned into a blank white screen with the ongoing loading symbol.
On a separate note, I generally have had quick feedback from TC when I have a question, but it’s taking forever (2+ years) for them to release new features that many teachers and administrators have been requesting.
