Yeah it does what it should, except I think you should really zoom in to max and hold the phone at a distance. That gives you the best idea

Great fun map exercise
This is a great map app. It’s fun to see what’s on the other side of the globe. It gives reality to the expression “dig a hole to China” even if the other side of the planet isn’t China.
Not sure of the point of this app
I thought I was going up get a view of the earth directly below me but the POV seems random and I’m not really sure of the point of the app.

Great idea but didn't work for me, said i was always opposite the south pole.
Interesting app
This is great fun for my geography obsessed son. For the reviewers complaining about Antarctica, I assure you it is accurate based on the magnitude and direction. You have to expect there are going to be large variations with the slightest tilt of the device. The world is in fact quite large, after all.

Good App
A very good idea, great app, but it needs some work. For example, I changed my location a couple times and I was still in the same spot, with Antarctica directly below me.-.

Favorite App of all time
I love this app. You want to know why? It puts the world in perspective. Where are you in relation to the world? Up is up, down is down, right? Wrong. East isn't east, west isn't west. This archaic 2 dimensional view of the world is blown away, replaced with a perspective that allows us to know what it feels like to live on a sphere. 3 dimensions. Up is any way you want it to be, and south America is more left than I thought it was. And when I lay down, I turn my back on most of the human population. This app gives perspective, and that's more important than any Angry Bird.

Extremely Inaccurate App
So, if I look straight down through the planet from the middle of the United States, I'll see Antarctica??? I think not.
Just make it so I can see where I am.
