The worst
Horrible app, completely useless, can’t believe that MB uses this.
Helpful but requires constant internet connection.
App is absolutely horrible without internet or with intermittent internet. When it works though (and isn't otherwise glitching) it works.
Unintuitive UI, many bugs, incompetently made
A middle school student can code up a better app than this
Terrible app
Freezes all the time. Sometimes I just cannot open the app. Hard to create new cards. Not user friendly. Hate it
Use with MB, have no issues
Slowish to start up but otherwise I’ve really had zero issues with it
Slow unsuable
Don’t waste your time. It’s slow and crashes. Will just give you a headache and stress
Too many bugs, no support
The bugs will drive you nuts and you won’t be able to reach support. When you do, they will ghost you and never fix anything. Save your time and stick with Anki.
Great concept, but horrible
I use Traverse for language studies, and the concept is nice. The layout is clean and the cards are highly customizable. But the app is basically unusable, and the website has its issues too. It basically takes ages to even load one flashcard, the app constantly crashes; it feels more like a struggling old web browser inside an app than an app itself. And this reflects the website too, which is not quite as bad to the point of unusable, but also very unstable and slow. Add to that I have about 5,000 flash cards and Traverse just can’t handle it. It’s also a nightmare just to edit a card. I have no choice but to use it since it’s linked to my curriculum, but I really wish they could improve the app.

Cool concept poor execution
I really do like the concept of this app. The idea that you can use mind maps to organize your information and then flash cards to remember them is very useful. A couple of problems: 1) I actually got this app instead of another one because of the ability to handwrite, but it frustrated me so much that I just gave that up all together. 2) even adding new blocks can be very slow and there have been times where all the work I did on a file just got deleted for no reason 3) editing flash cards sometimes replaces the prompt with another flash card messing up everything.
If you fixed the things that your app does to actually make it clean, it would be a great app. Until then I feel semi scammed and annoyed for how much I’m paying monthly.

Really great flashcards
Fantastic flash cards with a lot of great options. Would highly recommend
Downloaded… doesn’t run
I’ve often wished there were a way to defer a rating for apps that don’t work because I can’t review something I’ve never experienced. As a software engineer myself, I’m sympathetic. However, I need to give this a 1 for now because it literally crashes after flashing the Traverse logo. I’m a Mandarin Blueprint user and I’m a little surprised that MB would rely on a buggy app (looking at other reviews) for such a critical part of their platform. Anyway, I’m sincerely hoping to be able to revise this review soon to a much better rating.

Terrible performance
Doesn’t load often, it shows a black screen for ages. It can’t even be used offline which is when people have the most spare time for flash cards.
Do not use google auth
I am locked out of using the mobile app because I chose google authentication when signing up. I wish I had just chosen a password like the MB course suggested. I am directed to a buggy web app and the app never finishes logging me in.
Functional app, frustrating bugs.
I just started using this app this week. When I logged in yesterday, I received a message that an update is required. When I go to the App Store to update, there are no updates available. I can’t cancel this prompt to update. I had to uninstall and reinstall.
even though there are bugs, I used ankimobile and ankiapp this weekend. So far I like traverse better because it compliments Mandarin Blueprint quite well compared to the others. I like adding pictures and traverse makes it easy to include.

Everything was OK, but now I can’t use the app

I started to experience issues too. I have not made so many cards yet. Here is what I know: choose lowest res pictures and simple graphics possible. Make sure your internet connection is solid not using mobile data. The last part is by logging in to the web interface there are more options. See if your mass delete can happen there. If all else does not work reach out to their support. I’m not an employee… just an end user like you.

Excellent Flashcards App for Language Learning
I have been using Traverse for about 9 months for learning Mandarin in conjunction with the Mandarin Blue Print Method. This app rocks! It allows me to modify flashcards and include my own illustrations, including gifs. I use it every morning to refresh my memory on the words, phrases and sentences I learn, and it bring up terms I’ve learned before to refresh my knowledge. That’s handy because sometimes I forget some words or characters, and Traverse reminds me regularly.

Reviewing
The design is perfect to overcome the forgetting curve. Additionally, it is easy to complete my reviews everyday. However, sometimes the audio won’t work but can easily be fixed by swiping the app.
Not sure why MB chose this app
Gonna be honest and not mean here, I’m seriously not understanding why mandarin blueprint would choose this app as the basis of practice with apps like anki and the like out there. This app is painfully difficult to understand on iOS, and doesn’t look at all like the screens they shows on the MB website courses. It’s unintuitive, and buggy. Sorry my dudes but this app is not it.

Login issue not solved
I am also user from mandarin blueprint. Google login requires multiple verifications EVERY time. The checkbox do not ask on this device does not work. It is really frustrating to use
