Not good
Response from developer
Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. I’m really sorry for the frustration you’ve had with both the free limit and the misidentification. I know how disappointing that is, especially when you’re just trying out the app. The one-scan-per-day limit helps us keep a free version available while covering the costs of maintaining our identification engine, but I understand it can feel too restrictive. I’ve passed your comment about pricing and limits to our team so we can review how we can offer more value at a fairer price. The wrong ID is on us, and I’d genuinely like to improve from that. If you’re open to it, sharing the photo and what tree it actually was would help us refine our database and recognition models. I appreciate you giving the app a try, and I’m sorry we didn’t meet your expectations this time.
Fire wood

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this! I’m really glad the app is helping you identify the best firewood and support how you heat your home. If you ever have ideas for features that would make it even more useful for you, I’d love to hear them. Thanks again for using TreeBarkId and for being part of the community.
Don’t believe this works
Response from developer
Thanks for taking the time to share this detailed feedback, and I’m really sorry for the frustration, especially given your concern about your dog’s health. That’s exactly the kind of situation where the app should help, not add confusion. Tree identification can sometimes be tricky for the camera, especially if the photos are taken from certain angles, in low light, or without clear shots of leaves, bark, nuts, or overall shape. That said, your experience doesn’t sound right, and I’d really like to make it better. If you’re open to it, could you send us a few example photos you used (including close-ups of bark, branches, and any remaining nuts or leaves) through the in‑app support or our support email? I can have the team review them, check what went wrong, and help you get accurate IDs for your trees. We’re also constantly improving the identification model, and real-world cases like yours are incredibly valuable for that. Thank you again for calling this out. I’d love the chance to turn this around and help you feel confident about what’s growing in your yard.
