What a waste

Garageband refuses to save the file. IRL brick in mortar I’d take the time to stand in line for a four dollar refund.

Not working

You are supposed to download a second app which doesn’t make sense. Then when you do, it’s not working. When you attempt to email for support, that link is not working. Please refund me.

I included a tutorial, but you can find tutorials on YouTube that will guide you in a better visual way that you can follow along with. After you get the steps down, you'll find it quite easy. Unfortunately Apple's 'Garage Band' is the ONLY way to set the notification sounds on your device without connecting to your computer with iTunes.

Failure to complete

Selected tone, listened to be sure, create ringtone. Garage band icon appears. Clicked. Opens to a page that does not offer the icon to long hold, it opens the DAW and no option to rename or manipulate. A box opens and is instantly covered by another dialogue box saying the operation cannot be completed. No other option. You cannot complete step 2. I tried enough times to realize this is a failure as far as I can see. If I am proven to be mistaken I will recant this. As it stands I feel that I was ripped off.

Your problem is with Garage Band, not my app. My app provides the sounds to download. I included a tutorial, but you can find tutorials on YouTube that will guide you in a better visual way that you can follow along with. After you get the steps down, you'll find it quite easy. Crashes under iOS 26

Just loaded and while it opens, the black arrow buttons do nothing and the download buttons crash the app.

How can u get a refund?

Did you grant the storage permission to be able to save the sounds? Did you have internet to download the sounds when you tried?

If the included directions weren't clear, or just hard to follow along while doing it, please check Apple's 'Garage Band' app video tutorials on YouTube. It becomes easy once you learn it.

Waste of Four Bucks

Unless you’re an expert at using the Garage Band App, don’t bother downloading Trek:Sounds. It frustrated me for three days, while I asked people more tech savvy than I to try to help me figure it out. They could not. I ultimately deleted the difficult app and took the loss. Thank goodness it was only a $4 loss.

Not worth paying for

Paid 4 euros for nothing. The app is a scam. Pre sound doesn’t work at all. Such a big waste.

The preview sounds are working. Be sure your volume is up, do-not-disturb is off, you're not connected to anything like earphones you can't hear, and that you have a data connection.

If you couldn't understand how to use it, I would be happy to send you the instructions by mail to use the translation options there. Write to newstartrekapps@gmail.com for help. You must use Apple's 'Garage band' app to be able to set the notification sounds without doing it through iTunes on your computer. It's the only way, so this is set up as smooth as I can make it for iOS. I wish I could make it a simple one-tap apply like I do on Android.

Terrible

I literally never leave reviews and I’ve been on the iPhone since the first one, but I wish I could get my money back. This is literally the worst app I have ever come across. It’s so difficult to hear the sounds. You have to do some long process with GarageBand. And the sounds are quite literally nothing like the Star Trek sound. Someone has tried to use their synth and remake the sound and they sound terrible. How do I get my money back?

Thank you. For the first problem, turn your volume up. The sounds are loud. As for Garage band, that is an Apple app, and the only method to set sounds on your device without your computer. The sounds are accurate. Maybe check the 24th century list if those are the only sounds you're familiar with.

Brilliant

Why this App only had a single review, no narrative and just one star, totally eludes me. This App is brilliant and a MUST for Star Trek fans … and it’s an absolute giveaway. Worth every penny and definitely worth 5 stars. I’ve always loved the noise effects from the First Star Trek series and now I have them on my text messages, email’s etc on my iPhone. It was a doddle to download and set up via Garage Band and went seamlessly into my Ringtones, but you do need to rename them before saving to Ringtones, otherwise they all just list as Treksound.

Read the instructions folks! Preview the sound, export to GarageBand and add to your phone. Super fun.

Waste of time

So complicated for something so simple and the app wont even let you hear the audio clips before download to you have to download 150 clips one at a time to find what you’re looking for. Spent an hour screwing around with it before giving up, realizing having my phone make some trek sounds is not worth my time.

Cool but

I don’t get what to do with most of the sounds. Like how do I set the sound to say unauthorized access or something? A lot of these sounds don’t seem like they have any points since you can’t really set those sounds anyway.

You need to tap on the sound to hear the preview. You need to be connected to the internet when you do. It works fine. You just need to use the Garage Band app from Apple to set the sounds on your device. This is the only way without iTunes with your computer connected to your phone. Write to trektheme@gmail.com if you need help with the directions. This is actually a bargain. iTunes sells the sounds for $1.99 each.
