My Legal Magic Wand

I have been using Trial Pad for years. It is, and has always been, almost magical in helping me present evidence to the court. I have impressed judge after judge with the effortless use and convincing presentation. It is intuitive and powerful at the same time. It isn’t cheap, but for trial presentation when millions of dollars are on the line, it is a bargain. Will never go to trial without it as long as its available.

Easy and effective

I use this software in every trial and love it. It is functional and easy to use and very effective. I highly recommend recommended!

Use iTrial for trial presentation instead

Trialpad is a good piece of software, but it is no longer available as a standalone application. The publisher wants $600 per year to subscribe to Trialpad and other applications that most people neither need nor use. This just shows hostility toward the user and as a result they lost me as a customer.

Use iTrial instead. It has good features, it’s easy to use, and the price is at least tolerable.

Annoyed

Spent a lot of money on the app for it to be made basically useless to get you to buy a new app and pay a crazy subscription price

Love it

Love the design and utility of this applicaiton. Would definately recommed it to any lawyer friends that I have

If Iron-Man's suit were made for trial lawyers...

...this would be it. I have used a LOT of software in the decades that I've been trying cases, and this is the best: fast, intuitive, clear and powerful. Plus, it works on a Mac! Buy it now, thank me later.

Amazing

Amazing and at 10% the price of other litigation software!

Crashes routinely but consistently

This app is pretty straightforward to use, not as expensive or complex as others out there (positives, in my view), has the basic functions you need to present exhibits in trial, and is relatively inexpensive. One frustration is that it regularly crashes shortly after opening it or shortly after really putting it to use. This usually only happens once a day early on, but it's happened at some very inopportune times. Thankfully it starts back up quickly, I've never lost my work, and it's been easy to recover. Still, fix the bugs please! It happens consistently.

Good apps - I would like to see one thing added to the mix…

These are good apps, no question. I’m not aware of any significant competition? What I would like to see is an extensive “how to” presentation prepared by Lit Software [i.e., actual pre-trial and trial DEMOs/video(s)] - everything (all app features) being used from A to Z in a real-world case scenario (e.g., a criminal case). A *visual* walk-through. Not piecemeal video clips and/or customer use (written) summaries. This should come from the app creator. Thank you…

Great app, weak bundle

I’m a litigator, and TrialPad cuts prep time for hearings, mediations, and trials way down compared to PowerPoint, etc. Huge time saver.

Suggestions: At this price point, collaboration features should be better. TrialPad should allow multiple users to work on a presentation at the same time. Ability to store the TrialPad file on cloud services other than iCloud, e.g., OneDrive, SharePoint, or Dropbox, would be nice as well. Also, the Mac version is glitchy, especially when renaming documents.

The bundled apps don’t add nearly the value that TrialPad provides. I’d rather see it priced separately, as I don’t and won’t use DocumentReviewPad or TranscriptPad. They’ve been promising a timeline app for years, but they haven’t delivered.

So, 4 stars. Great app but room for improvement.

Disappointing Approach

Its very disappointing that LitSoft discontinued support for its earlier version after conspicuously advertising a onetime fee. The new version also appears more cumbersome. It was once a beautiful product.

TrialPad on my MacBook!

The desktop version is hands down the best app for Mac users. It has improved our workflow immediately. The support has been superb, personal and extremely helpful. I can’t wait to see how this suite continues to develop.

Great Product

The newest version works great. I used in in arbitration depositions and trial. It allows me to compete against the big firms. In my last arbitration the other side brought a tech to assist. My presentation was smoother and faster without a tech by using Trial Pad.

Disappointed

I purchased the original TrialPad app several years ago for around $100. I used it occasionally, moving documents easily via dropbox. I liked the highlighting feature and the ability to do a call out. Now it appears what I thought I owned for $100 has been rendered useless, and replaced by a $400 a year subscription. Moreover, the subscription version is far more complex to use.

Unreliable and overpriced.

The original version of this app was useful, if a bit basic; however, the price reflected that fact. The new version is unreliable, difficult to use, and is grossly overpriced for what it does. Save your money and look elsewhere.

BEST Trial Presentation Software on the market!

I run a litigation support firm, and have used several trial presentation software products. TrialPad is by FAR the best in the industry! Furthermore, while other developers are abandoning their software because the industry is so niche, LIT SOFTWARE is actively developing to make their product(s) better and easier to use. I am incredibly happy with this software and with the developer’s responsiveness and receptiveness to feedback. 10/10

Awesome tools for litigators

Outstanding and robust softwares since the introduction of MacOS Apps in October 2022.

File importation

Had issues with file importation. App has changed, but Tara scheduled a zoom call, and was MORE than helpful getting me up to speed on the changes.

Confused & Disappointed

I purchase TrialPad and it worked for a while but now when I try to upload a file from Dropbox I cannot because of an error loading app info message. I have deleted and reinstall Dropbox several times just in case that was the problem but the problem still lingers on. I have searched in the app store for the version of TrialPad that I recently paid for but could not find it and instead found something that require a more than $300 subscription and no way to contact anyone to see what is going on. Did the TrialPad I purchase get discontinued?

Litsoft Suite - a must for any trial attorney!

Every trial attorney should have this suite. The three main programs integrate seamlessly with each other. One can review documents, highlight and annotate them in DocReviewPad, and transfer the ones one wants to use by page, document, annotation or mark over to TrialPad for use in witness examination or presentation in any adversarial setting, including mediations/arbitrations, depositions or trial.

One can review testimony in TranscriptPad across dozens or more transcripts, categorize testimony by self-created issue, and the program has tremendous reporting capabilities by issue to transfer over into TrialPad, again for witness examination or presentation. One can even find words or a group of words in seconds across dozens of transcripts, and can create impeachment slides comprising specific testimony that present beautifully and effectively in TrialPad.

And it’s not just the seamless integration between the three that is so attractive, but the use of the programs allows a lawyer to always be a lawyer; the attorney never diverts from the creative, strategic process. For example, when preparing witness examination for trial or deposition, TrialPad allows one to place exhibits and even pages of exhibits in a custom order (with easy backup for redundancy) with the ability ahead of time to highlight where one’s document questions will focus, and one can insert notes that only the user can see during delivery of the exhibit over the applicable medium. And the exhibit/document order can easily be changed with the swipe of a finger. There’s no waste of time giving one’s finally ordered and annotated exhibits to a tech person to rehearse to ensure proper delivery and then spend time having the person bring up the exhibit the questioner wants at trial. TrialPad eliminates that interruption and significant expense. It also allows one to always employ one’s creative style and implement one’s case strategy in witness preparation through TrialPad’s features. I walk into court with no paper, no tech interruption, and I can execute a seamless, orderly delivery of evidence; the evidence through TrialPad tells the story.

I’ve been a trial attorney for over 35 years, most of them with a large national law firm. Anyone can use these intuitively easy programs to be their best, and they are absolutely enjoyable to use.
