Everything changed recently

This used to be a really fun game until recently. Now every game, nine out of ten times our opposing team will have such a great hand that they will call trump, game after game, hand after hand. If one of my opponent calls trump the other opponent has just as great a hand to help him. I have left games in the middle because it was so ridiculous and join a different game, but, I am back in the same situation. It might be time to look for another app. There has been a new twist on this game lately, almost seems that it’s been since my last review. If in the very rare case that our opponents don’t call trump and I or my partner do, our opponents amazingly have almost every card to defeat us. I find myself saying “amazing” almost every game.

Depite all of my perceived issues, I should say that I am still hooked on this game, this app. The layout is good and it looks nice. I play probably 5 -6 times a day or more.

WORSE GAME SITE EVER!!!

You set up a player for failure. I sat down and had four hearts in my hand, and the bot or person before me had passed so I couldn’t order up to the heart to my partner to play hearts … or your app didn’t allow it at that point. How rude! Why do you make us start in an already started game. And I’ve even seen bots that mislead and set me up for failure. Why can’t a person sit down and play a fresh game??? And your statistics are wacko the way you make losing more of a preference to you than our being able to win and get ahead. Your incentive to get coins is very limited, and, instead, you want money for us to play the games where we get to start on our own and be our own person. All my friends have left, and I have hardly anybody left to play with that I even know. Your format for the game is pretty good compared to most, but you don’t care about your players. I am pretty much done since everybody I know left.

New flaw in the play

I know it's nice to prevent players from deliberate game delays, but I consider automatic card play to be an unnecessary tell to the crafty players advantage. Let's say that the bidder calls hearts, leads a heart and the next player shoots the only heart he has, letting the bidder know that it was a computer play that was fast and automatic. He now knows that hat player is out of trump which could easily prove advantageous in a future play.

Tricky euchre

This is the most one sided euchre card game I’ve ever played, but alas, I keep playing it cause it’s the easiest game to play, I’ve never gotten so many 4 of a kind low cards in my life and I’ve been playing this game for 60 years, who ever set this game up must not know how to play, I play with people that I don’t think they know how to play but you can’t beat with nines and tens you get on every hand

Fun game!

Best euchre I’ve found. I like the social aspect and chatting with ppl. The level of competition is just right. The AI deals put you on hot streaks and bad luck streaks, just like life. Ads are minimal. Not annoying.

Good way to learn game

Highly recommend. Fun app. Being a novice player I am learning new strategies but that is limited as the suggestions become predictable.

It would be fabulous if there was the ability to go back and review previous hands. It would be a great learning tool. Would also help to learn how the telepathic partners worked together. Can’t stop that but at least I could then learn from their game play strategies.

Would like to be able to leave a game where it appears partners are working together and not have a penalty. Perhaps an algorithm that detects a player calling up trump with one trump and their partner taking three tricks.

Thanks for a great free game!

3 straight “alone” hands for one player

Algorithm is off. Today I jumped in on game that had started. My partner and I had no trump so they take 2 points. The player to my right took all 5 tricks. My partner deals then, the player to left tells him to pick the 9 of diamonds up and he goes alone. He has all the diamonds J J A K A. Down 6-0. The player to my right deals, flips up jack spades, I have none, pass, partner passes and player picks it up and goes alone. He has all clubs,J J A K Q in his hand 10-0. So three hands and the player to my left somehow managed to get J, J, A, K, Q three times in a row. I had one time that I even interacted in the game when I passed, the other 2 times I never got the chance. When this game doesn’t do crazy stuff it’s fun. Several times people call trump but have none but their partner has handful of trump, partner will take all 5 hands. Makes no sense.

Great game for euchre

We have had a game night for twenty years on Thursday nights and with covid we went virtual through the app and haven’t looked back. Allows for our no euchre variation. Love the watch feature with friends

Absolute steaming hot garbage app

The developers should be deeply ashamed of this app. The “shuffle” algorithm is so bad it has to be on purpose. You’re either loaded with Trump falling out of your ears, or you’ve got all off-suit cards. Every hand is like this. It’s the furthest thing from an actual game. If you spend a dime on this app you need to be in a straight jacket in a rubber room. Because that’s how it feels playing this trash app.

Finally!

A fantastic app for all those times I can’t get a few friends together to play for real. This is the one app I always make sure I have because it’s so much fun and entertaining.

Doesn’t always recognize “Go under” hands

In the last 42 games I’ve played in Practice Mode, 5 had 3 cards 10 and under and 2 had 4 cards 10 and under, but I was not given the choice to “go under,” only bid or pass. The algorithm did recognize some other instances of my holding low cards and gave me the go under choice. How is that even possible?? How can whatever programming is used for the game “miss” or “not recognize” a hand that had three 9’s, one 10 and one Jack?

Fun!

The app is great fun. I was going to give it 5 then saw some of the other review about the shuffling algorithms. I have wondered about the hot/cold hands myself. I’ll get several games where I can’t make a play or I’m the shark on the board. Never happens when playing Euchre with a real deck. Other than that, great fun.

Good play

I like that my AI partner will lead trump when I call it. It be nice if he’d lead the left when he has it. He’ll always lead a lower trump first.

My AI partner won’t go alone as often as he should (but neither will the AI opponents, so that’s good!). My partner just went alone without the right. He also had the first lead. That means, as the programming goes, his lead was the lowest trump he’s got. Bad move. He would’ve made the loner leading the left. The right wasn’t in play, and his left/ace would’ve taken all the trump off the partners.

Overall, this is the best euchre game I’ve found. I am almost completely happy with the strategies of the AI (computer) players, except for the 2 above mentioned situations.

The ads are well, tolerable, as far as ads go. They are typically short, and only every few games. Thanks for that.

Three stars

Three stars because 1. Sound plays from ads even though I have app sound off (I shouldn’t have to turn all sound on phone off to avoid sounds when opening app), and 2. When playing practice rounds some of the programmed plays are dubious. Slightly annoying. Game play is very good, though, when playing with real people.

Figure out the shuffling

I love it except I can’t be cold for a whole day. Could be chance but my cards could actually repeat themselves and I can go a
without one good deal in a game. It is strange. Another thing is that sometimes the sequence of who deals gets out of sequence.

Good functionality, shuffle algorithm is a little off

It’s a fine game that works well, but they need to figure out their shuffle algorithm. It’s very all or nothing. I’ve played cards my whole life and it’s impossible to either be that hot or that cold all of the time. It makes the game a little frustrating. Other than that, very good app.

Great app for staying connected during this pandemic.

App has built in video/audio. Great for playing with far away friends or even the person quarantined upstairs! Thank you to Trickster for making this lock down more bearable.

Lots of Room for Improvement

This is a nice platform to play Euchre with friends remotely. However, don’t bother playing in Practice mode against computer opponents. Your hands will be predictably lousy, your AI partner will do idiotic things at the worst time and your AI opponents will play together as if they are telepathic. Very frustrating. If you’re looking for a stand-alone euchre game, look elsewhere.
