Frustrations

It’s very irritating when the robot plays an ace on a king when the robot is the last to play and there are no points in the trick. Many times the robot plays high just to take the trick. Secondly, when I leave a game in the middle of a hand it’s for two reasons. 1. I need to go and I always send the message Gotta Run to be courteous. 2. When one of the players starts bidding crazy bids out of either frustration or anger - shoots when they clearly have no chance of making it. Bidding 9 or even 10 makes sense if they’re trying to block someone from winning. I get that. Usually I leave a game at this point, no apologies. When playing with live players the game is great and I really enjoy it. 👍 one more thing. I also leave when some one sends a wink to their partner indicating they have the Ace or something that’s going to take the 3. I like that you can’t talk but winking is a close as you get to it.

Cards are not given randomly

It’s great playing with actual people, however, the hands given are FAR from being random. Which makes it incredibly annoying to play. Wish the developers could fix this

Bots need update

Fun game when playing with actual people the bots just ruin it. They trump in with high cards for no reason they give up the jack before the 2 bid 4 without the Ace. If the bot is last and has the 2 and no trump has been played they still don’t play it. Gets really annoying needs updates.

Fun but frustrating

The system seems to favor heavy bidders with better cards, including giving the partner in the 2v2 great supporting trump cards. A person can only take so many hands with cards no higher than 9, or with all the 10s. It seems scoring is off when calculating and honoring game point. But fun to play on the phone anywhere.

Fine. Unrealistic hands, though.

Perhaps it’s part of a scheme to frustrate you into paying but you will regularly end up in games where you never see a decent hand and will be playing against regular four bids. If you end up with a computer partner, you may end up having it bid four without the jack. Again, maybe it’s done on purpose to goad you into coughing up cash but it’s annoying, nevertheless.

Deals are skewed

After you play a while you rarely get good deals or hit with your partner. If you are playing with a real partner against a bot and you get way ahead, the bot will get a really good hand to catch up. Several times felt like the game chose the winner and if it wasn’t you, you had no chance. Deleted my account and the app. Moving on.

Robot players stink

When you play with a robot who bids 4 you lose low every time because robot doesn’t come back unless it has the king. It’s programmed into the game and is so frustrating bc you know you’re getting set.

And I believe the deal is rigged when you play robots. 90% of the time when a robot has a forced 2 bid it has ace, jack and two more trump. Rarely works out that way for the human players though.

Pretty good. AI needs work.

This is a fun pitch game. Very enjoyable. I do, however, agree with those who say playing with the AI gets ridiculous sometimes. The AI tends to make these high bids that no sane person would make. It gets frustrating when the AI is on your team and always overbidding with no cards. And when you’re playing against the AI it’s easy to win. Other than that it’s definitely worth having and playing.

Want to play and................

I have had to delete and reinstall my app 4 times cause I open the app to the first page and it freezes and goes no further. Trickster seems to be big enough that they should not have these issues. If I started my own pitch app and had these type of issues I could understand since I would be my own tech support, however this is comically sad. Fix your app so others don’t leave to other places to play.

Do Not Get This App

This is very disappointing. When playing with the computer, there will be 4-5 hands in a row where you are dealt no face cards or point cards. Also, when playing 5-point, your partner will bid 4 and lead with an exceptionally low card. In a real game, you don’t bid that high without an ace. It is as if the computer bids on random cards rather than sure point cards.

Absolute Garbage

When starting a general game you get thrown into a game in progress and have no idea what’s been played previously. The computer players are absolutely clueless and ALWAYS play their highest off suit cards no matter the situation. They also will bid and lead a small trump suit card while holding a king or queen and rarely lead a second trump card. I’ve actually seen computer players bid and lead out the deuce of trump as the first card! It’s frustrating to watch opponents drop the low because the bidder doesn’t lead trump twice. You cannot win playing with computer players as your partner. It’s rigged to try and keep games close. Random cards do not fall like this simulation. It seems you can go forever without seeing a face card then all of a sudden you’re being dealt nothing but killer hands for a game or two. If you have the slightest inkling of basic pitch strategy this simulation will leave you extremely frustrated!

Awesome!

It’s just the game! Nothing else, just cards. You pick the way you wanna play, and somebody is always around to play the game with you. No frills, just sit down and play some cards! Perfect.

Great game

Grew up playing pitch at family gatherings. Those gatherings have all but gone away over the years. Love that I found this app and can play a few hands whenever the mood strikes. Excellent work!

The best available

As others have said, this is the best Pitch app I’ve seen. It’s great to play other people, but the computer players are flawed- leading with the low, trumping a hand that their partner already has won, bidding four recklessly in some iterations of the game.

One thing that I find frustrating is that my game of choice is sometimes at the top of the options of formats and other times 3/4 down the screen, so one must be careful not to pick the slightly different option, like low to holder instead of taker.

Almost a good app

This app is almost good but for two huge issues. One is that you do not get the game you are most likely to choose at the top of your suggested games. Two is that the AI is atrocious at any game you choose. The programming team needs to add a simple logic to not allow 4 bids without a jack present unless your team is desperate. Otherwise the game play is fine.

This is a great program and fantastic way to play Pitch… Gives you a variety of games and if you don’t like one you can make your own rules having people join you for those rules in that type of play.

They killed the free game to make you pay $

This game was great. It has turned into a scam. All of a sudden the artificial players make ridiculous bids. This ruins the free game. It’s only fun now if you have all humans. But then a human may have to leave. Maybe they made this change to make players play “compete” games using trickster chips that you can buy for $. This give you some chips to start for free. But they will likely disappear and then you will need to pay $ to play a “compete” game.

Simple and fun way to play online Pitch

I have been using this app to play pitch online with friends while sheltering at home. The app allows you to choose from many rule variations, and is easy to use. The imbedded video link is great for friends, but I wish we did not have to reset it after each game. Still, this has worked very well to allow us to get together online for a fun pitch game.

It brings my family together during Covid

My family is spread out all over the country and it brings us together a couple of times a week. The only thing we wish is we’d like to see video for 6 players.

Good game but pay attention to scoring

I enjoy playing this game, but have noticed it doesn’t always score properly. Once my opponents bid 3 and I took high and low (A&2) in one trick. My opponents were awarded 3 points and we only got 1. Today I took every single trick in one hand but only was awarded 2 points while my opponents were awarded 1 despite not claiming any tricks. Things like this don’t happen all the time, but it’s often enough that I’ve started looking for it.
