About
TripSnap logs your work drives by itself and turns them into the report that gets you paid.
Your car connects, recording starts. No account, no ads, and your location never leaves
your phone.
Most mileage apps meter what they will record: 15, 30 or 40 drives a month, then they stop
counting, and the drives you make after that are gone for good. TripSnap never stops recording.
Every drive is captured and kept, however long you stay on the free plan. Free opens your ten
most recent; the older ones are locked, never deleted, and subscribing opens every one of them
again exactly as driven. There is no account and no server for any of it to sit on.
TRACKS ITSELF
Recognizes your car over CarPlay or its Bluetooth stereo and records the drive in the
background. Every drive gets recorded — a 7pm client run or a Saturday callout is never thrown
away for happening at an odd hour. Set the hours you usually work and drives inside them arrive
already marked Business.
A LOG THAT HOLDS UP
Every trip carries the four things substantiation actually requires: date, distance, where you
went, and why. Routes are measured by GPS as you drive, and automatic trips are locked so the
distance stays exactly what was recorded. Mileage is priced at the IRS rate in force on the day
you drove — including mid-year changes like the one on 1 July 2026 — so a new rate never
silently reprices the drives you already logged.
GET REIMBURSED
Save your manager's email and pay period, and one tap builds a PDF and CSV and drops them into a
message ready to send. TripSnap tracks what you have not claimed yet and warns you before the
60-day substantiation window closes — 30 days in Illinois. The formatted report,
send-to-manager flow and deadline alerts are part of TripSnap Pro.
DRIVING GIG WORK?
Clock on and TripSnap groups the drives into that shift, then works out what the hours really
paid: dollars per hour and per mile, take-home after what the fuel actually cost. Every business
mile is totalled at the IRS standard rate for your Schedule C. Shift tracking is part of
TripSnap Pro — and the earnings you type are never trapped: the Shifts CSV exports every shift
you have ever recorded, on any plan.
ALSO IN THE BOX
· Home-screen widget and a Live Activity showing it is recording right now
· Fuel and energy cost per car, gas or electric
· Commute separated automatically once you set Home and Office
· Tolls and parking on top of mileage
· Miles or kilometers, and your own currency
PRICING
Recording is free and never stops: automatic tracking with no monthly drive limit,
classification, per-car fuel cost, and CSV export — with no account and no ads. The free plan
opens your ten most recent drives.
TripSnap Pro, an annual subscription with a month free first, opens your whole log and adds the
formatted PDF report and send-to-manager flow, shift tracking with take-home per hour, trends,
and reimbursement deadline alerts.
Nothing you record is ever deleted. Drives past the free ten stay on your iPhone, locked rather
than lost, and come back the moment you subscribe.
PRIVACY
Everything stays in a database on your iPhone. There is no server, no login, and no manager
dashboard — you choose what to export and who to send it to.
A NOTE ON TAX
TripSnap is a record-keeping tool, not tax advice. W-2 employees cannot deduct business mileage
federally, so the app is built around getting reimbursed by an employer; self-employed drivers
deduct the same miles on Schedule C. Tell TripSnap which you are and it shows the right one.
Check anything specific with your own accountant.
