Great if you know what you’re looking for…

This app is great at giving you information about specific rivers and streams, but it’s incredibly difficult and frustrating to find cities, lakes and highways. Not sure what it is, but on Google Maps, I have no issues. On this app…good luck. As an example, I am going to Stanley Idaho next month and would like to know what streams are available in the area. Problem is, it’s almost impossible to find Stanley on the map. I won’t be renewing my subscription unless this is remedied. It would be so much better to also be able to search by city or town. I reached out to support with no response.

Help does exist when you have a problem!

Thank you Trout Routes, the directions solved my problem.
Your response to my Help Request was very prompt. So I changed my rating to Five Stars.
ISSUE - Paid for the annual subscription and Apple Apps shows that is so. Yet when I go to use Trout Routes it is always requesting that I upgrade from the basic level.
Then when it I oblige the program to upgrade it, it reports I have already subscribed. His has happened multiple times. There is no HELP access on the app to try and take care of problems. I finally found the Contact Information out side of the app on your web site. Your directions solved the issue. Thanks!!!!

Frustrating

While on Wi-Fi or with good cell coverage (5G full bars), the app seems to work perfectly fine. You can plan for different fishing areas and download maps easily. The frustration comes when you’re out in the field without a signal, though. The app fails to open and you are now unable to access any of the downloaded maps that you planned for. So if you want to move spots to different locations, you are pretty much blind as to access points and regulations without good cell service.

Glitchy and disappointed that I paid for a subscription

App repeatedly gets stuck when it’s opened. Honestly, our state fish and game maps are more useful than this app, and they can be accessed for free. App really falls short of what a paid application should offer. If it integrated state stocking info, it might be worth it. But I still find that the classification system they use is not very accurate.

Map flips upside down

Whenever I home into my location, the whole map flips upside down everytime. So I have to close it out everytime and reopen. Not that big of a hassle but I just remember not to home into my location.

Don’t waste your time

We spent some time driving to spots that noted some fishing spots and they were completely inaccurate. I wish this app gave more information on each of the fishing locations they post on their app. I would not recommend anyone to buy this app.

Everything is behind a paywall.

Don’t even waste your time, greed is a disgusting thing.

New version JUNK

They updated the app and now all of the private easement that are granted by individuals are gone. This actually happened once before about six or seven months ago and they fixed it. Maybe have a little code review to make sure that features that are useful don’t disappear. I guess it’s useful to know who owns the land but many people in the area I live in Grant easement and those are gone now.

Offline maps are useless

Offline maps are useless when you are limited to 750 tiles. Overall, you’re paying for the data. The app is clunky and not that great of an experience from a UI/UX perspective, but the information is very useful. Gotta take what you can get from it.

At least give a 24 hour trial

Why would I spend $25-50 when I don’t even know if it will be useful. Let people demo the full access features. The basic app might as well be the map app on my phone.

What about Canada eh?

Got this app expecting good things no Canada no good

Good but room for improvement!

I like the app, it has shown me some good streams in california and its very helpful to find access points and/or campsites. Now one thing i wanna point out is if you‘re paying it would be nice to actually have up to date regulations right in the app. I understand that it‘s alot among 1000s of streams across the US but maybe even having a little social feature where people could leave comments on certain streams on what current regulations are. Or (and i don‘t know how easy that is for implementation but creating an algorithm that detects fishing regulations online and updates them in real time)! Another thing is, i tried out the fish species filter system seems to be a little unreliable. Just came back from owen‘s river which is known for brown trouts and while rare still holds lahontan cutties. When i used the species filter for browns cutthroats and some other species, owen‘s river didn‘t even seem to pop up nor did alot of the more southern rivers that do hold those fish. I understand that maybe the app is trying to prevent people from overfishing certain spots that hold endangered species which i find great but then again why even add a species filter in the first place… all in all i think its a good app for finding streams and access points eventho i haven‘t used it a ton yet but i‘ll definitely try to use it more and give more feedback later!

Thank you for the team to put so much love into this app i hope they know it is very appreciated especially since it has become such a niche sport!

Alaska

Doesn’t work in AK unfortunately

Not Accessible

Recently invested in the pro version and for the past month the ap has been inaccessible. Expected better for the price paid.

Keeps getting worse

App won’t even open anymore. And when it did, it needed a data connection. Couldn’t use it on the river with no cellular data. Kinda pointless.

Don’t waste your money

The app doesn’t provide any information. And for the streams around me the information is completely useless.

Literally no point unless u wanna spend money

Just another worthless money grab fishing app. seen so many ads and finally decided to download it just to find out the whole app is literally unusable unless u pay for a subscription. maybe further disclose that in ur ads before people decide to waste their time downloading this nonsense.

Trash

Zero content

Huh?

What a terrible app. Apparently you have to pay for a subscription to see anything? No idea what I’m looking at in here. Uninstalling after less than 5 minutes. Work on conversion.

Stop trying to charge me

Charged me $43 for an app that I don’t use when I tried to cancel the free subscription. It charged me the $43.. if there’s a way to resolve this, that would be great. I’m not spending $43 on an app that I don’t use. For everyone safety don’t try the free subscription cause they’ll charge you.
