The Best Decision We Made in Rome
I usually find history quite difficult to engage with, and I often forget facts almost as quickly as I learn them, but this app completely changed that. It made exploring Rome feel like an adventure rather than a lesson. I learnt so much without it ever feeling overwhelming or like I was being lectured.
What I loved most was being able to explore entirely at my own pace. Unlike a traditional tour, there was no pressure to keep up with a group, no rushing past something I found interesting, and no feeling guilty for stopping for a coffee, a gelato, or simply taking a moment to soak everything in. If something fascinated me, I could spend as long as I wanted there. If I wanted to move on, I could.
The trails were brilliant and gave us a real sense of structure. Rome can feel incredibly overwhelming when you first arrive because there is just so much to see, but the app made everything feel manageable and purposeful. Instead of wandering aimlessly and worrying we were missing something important, we felt guided while still having complete freedom.
The content itself was fantastic. I especially loved the section about growing up as a girl during the Roman era. It was such a lovely touch because so much of what you hear about Ancient Rome tends to focus on powerful men, politics and warfare.
I can’t recommend this app enough. It struck the perfect balance between learning and exploring, and genuinely made our time in Rome so much more meaningful.

Loved it — for adults too!
I tried TrovaTrivia’s Gladiator Quiz expecting it to be “for kids”… and ended up loving it. It’s fun, smart, and full of great stories that make you think, not just tap answers. I actually learned new things about gladiators — and enjoyed every minute. A brilliant way to turn screen time into something genuinely interesting.

Trova Trails knows it’s audience
This interactive app is fantastic for families with kids under 12. Not only does it keep kids busy and engaged it also includes helpful hints for tourist parents (Like bathrooms and water fountains). My kids are older now- but they have such fond memories doing the Colosseum tour together. P.S. No lines to wait in or tickets to buy!

Fab app!
Fantastic app; kept our 11 year old entertained while we saw the sights and he’s been obsessed with the quizzes since we got back; great value for money, thx!
Bags of fun
This is a truly excellent app with quizzes and trails and loads of information pitched at just the right level for kids. It’s such a novel way of seeing and experiencing a city which when the kids are hot and tired provides not just a welcome distraction but loads of fun. Brilliant!
