The Best Decision We Made in Rome
I usually find history quite difficult to engage with, and I often forget facts almost as quickly as I learn them, but this app completely changed that. It made exploring Rome feel like an adventure rather than a lesson. I learnt so much without it ever feeling overwhelming or like I was being lectured.
What I loved most was being able to explore entirely at my own pace. Unlike a traditional tour, there was no pressure to keep up with a group, no rushing past something I found interesting, and no feeling guilty for stopping for a coffee, a gelato, or simply taking a moment to soak everything in. If something fascinated me, I could spend as long as I wanted there. If I wanted to move on, I could.
The trails were brilliant and gave us a real sense of structure. Rome can feel incredibly overwhelming when you first arrive because there is just so much to see, but the app made everything feel manageable and purposeful. Instead of wandering aimlessly and worrying we were missing something important, we felt guided while still having complete freedom.
The content itself was fantastic. I especially loved the section about growing up as a girl during the Roman era. It was such a lovely touch because so much of what you hear about Ancient Rome tends to focus on powerful men, politics and warfare.
I can’t recommend this app enough. It struck the perfect balance between learning and exploring, and genuinely made our time in Rome so much more meaningful.

Loved it — for adults too!
I tried TrovaTrivia’s Gladiator Quiz expecting it to be “for kids”… and ended up loving it. It’s fun, smart, and full of great stories that make you think, not just tap answers. I actually learned new things about gladiators — and enjoyed every minute. A brilliant way to turn screen time into something genuinely interesting.

Trova Trails knows it’s audience
This interactive app is fantastic for families with kids under 12. Not only does it keep kids busy and engaged it also includes helpful hints for tourist parents (Like bathrooms and water fountains). My kids are older now- but they have such fond memories doing the Colosseum tour together. P.S. No lines to wait in or tickets to buy!

Fab app!
Fantastic app; kept our 11 year old entertained while we saw the sights and he’s been obsessed with the quizzes since we got back; great value for money, thx!
Bags of fun
This is a truly excellent app with quizzes and trails and loads of information pitched at just the right level for kids. It’s such a novel way of seeing and experiencing a city which when the kids are hot and tired provides not just a welcome distraction but loads of fun. Brilliant!
Family fun
This is the only app of its kind on the market with fun, well designed, challenging yet doable activities for kids and adults while traveling
Such a fun way to learn.
I really loved this. The layout is great, the quizzes are fun and have great facts and images. Can’t wait to complete the tours on my next trip.
Great travel app
A great way for families to explore Rome. Has an amazing range of experience to keep everyone occupied and learn loads on your holiday.
Must with kids in Rome!
I am not exaggerating when I say that downloading this app and doing these scavenger hunts as a family turned our family trip around in the most positive ways. Our sons, 9 and 5, had the best time searching for clues throughout the city. They loved the work of paying attention to detail and solving the mystery. We loved that they cheerfully marched along without complaining about how tired they were, allowing us to really take in the city and the history as a family. I cannot recommend this enough to families. We particularly loved the Heart of Rome Neptune’s Trident Trail. Thank you to from the bottom of my heart to the developer of these scavenger hunts.

This app is great for kids and parents who are active, want to explore and learn a bit but still have fun! Highly recommend
My kids loved these adventures. Buy the whole pack before you get to Rome
Unfortunately, we only learned about this app a few days before our trip to Rome ended. We did three of these, and wish we would’ve done all of them. In particular, we paid like $400 for a kids tour of the Colosseum and I think they would’ve had more fun doing this for free (the Colosseum one is free). My girls are aged 6 and 10, and absolutely loved it. Bring a charger for your phone though because it will be used the whole time.

Such an amazing app!
I don’t normally do reviews but I’m so happy we discovered this app! It changed the way we were walking around Rome, it gives best trails and teaches you so much as you walk. It kept my kids so happy and genuinely interested, and I learned so much as well which was such a delight since I can’t normally stop and read everything. I’m so grateful we found this app before going and wanted to recommend as much as possible.

The Colosseum (with a granddaughter)
We had so much fun following a trail around the Colosseum with our 8-year-old granddaughter, working out a series of clues along the way to find an archaeological treasure. The well-written and entertaining text included engaging and "sticky" information in the "Did You Know?" section -- some of it funny, some of it just gruesome enough, some of it, Wow!
Bonus was that the text can be read by a good Grade 3 reader but without boring her adult companions -- and a kid who would have had a tough time waiting in the long Colosseum line-ups and/or listening to a tour guide was caught up in the interactive problem-solving, looking for plaques, deciphering Roman numerals, noting the difference between Doric, Ionian, and Corinthian columns, while having fun -- seriously! Took us almost two hours to get through the "trail" together, and she never complained of being bored or tired once.
Another bonus: the app gives instructions for how to find bathrooms, water fountain, and nearby playground, all important when travelling with kids. And compared to the cost (and wait time!!) for getting inside the Colosseum, our careful study of the ancient building's exterior cost us very little. Highly recommended!

A fun, educational app for the whole family!
A great app that makes touring Rome fun and educational, for kids and the rest of the family too! Highly recommend it for both tourists and Rome residents.
Great way for kids to learn about Rome’s history!
This app strikes an engaging balance between treasure hunting and teasing out details and facts about Ancient Rome. I think it’s fun for young learners that might otherwise be put off from the overwhelming amount of information and material remains. They will come away from this experience with a new appreciation of history and archaeology!

Flexible and Entertaining
We found this app to be so engaging for kids of various ages. No longer do you need to beg the tour guide to curtail their shpiel for the younger ones. This great app keeps kids entertained and no one is constrained by starting times and meeting points.
