Way too expensive

It could be useful but the price is comedic for an app like this - might come back to it if the dev comes back to planet earth.

Response from developer

Hey mate, sorry you feel that way -- just so you know there are family and teams options now available in case you want a parent or your company to buy Pro for you.

Way Too Expensive And IT WANTS APPLE ACCOUNT

It Is So So So Bad

Response from developer

Hey there, you can use it without signing in with apple (you'll miss the live activity feature though) -- also FYI there are family and teams options available in case you want a parent or your company to buy Pro for you.

No info on Overground or DLR

Only shows info for the main underground lines, app wouldve been more useful than TFL GO if it had those lines, or even info on national rail services. Other than that its been reliable with info!

Seriously expensive

I greatly appreciate this website so wanted to try the app, but I am hesitant to even try the ‘free trial’ in case I forget to cancel and get charged THREE HUNDRED pounds!

I don’t doubt this is a really useful app, but that is not a justifiable cost for an app like this. This is a neat tool but no healthcare, entertainment, educational, music apps or anything similar cost anything like this.

Hey Peter, thanks for your kind words. Sorry you didn't try the app fully. You'll be welcome back any time of course!

Great app but pro is pricey

This has always been my go to app to check for any delays, I love the accurate updates and features. I would buy the pro if it wasn’t so expensive. £7 per week is absurd, that’s more expensive than most monthly mobile contracts, music, TV or software subscriptions. Can’t justify it. £7 a month would be worth considering.

Thanks for the kind review JustJon97, I love that you love those features! Sorry you feel that way about Pro. All I can say is I'm putting out a fantastic product -- it lets you never have to unknowingly go on a bad Tube ever again! It checkmates the Tube problem for you. It's a very niche London benefit (superior Tube transit experiences) so I'm not sure those comparisons apply too well. Wouldn't you be happier if you could sidestep all those crowded/slow/jammed Tube experiences? Wouldn't the daily commute be that much more enjoyable and sustainable? Wouldn't that affect your work/life positively? Wouldn't it all thoroughly pay off? Sure it would!

Expensive, otherwise limited

The free version doesn’t have enough features to be useful at all. - so I doubt I’ll be back until there are some useful features at this tier.

However, the app does have some potential, it’s held back by many features that feel half-baked like the routes option. I can’t select my start and end stations without adding multiple lines, and it makes it feel unintuitive and difficult to use.

The lines option also displays very little usable information as most is hidden behind a very expensive paywall. I’ve found that for my use, these limitations and “beta” features make the app confusing and almost pointless to use, especially for its very high cost.

"Expensive but TRULY LIFE CHANGING AND TOTALLY WORTH IT" I think you meant in the title 😉 All jokes aside thanks for giving it a try. Hope you come back to use the free features if you find yourself in a bind sometime.

Great App

I really do like the live views and customisation 5 stars all around

Response from developer

Thanks for your review, glad you like it!

Unusable

I’m sure this app is quite useful, but the fact my home station, on the Northern Line, is missing makes the app unusable.

Response from developer

Hi, sorry you seem to have hit one of the 2-3 stations that is currently excluded from the routes features (that's the reason for the 'beta' label on the routes tab). You can find very good similar info by zooming the northern line map on the lines screens instead. (I.e. it still should very usable for you)

No additional functionality to the web page

All features which are not available on the web are locked behind a paywall, (Up to £43.99 per 3 months, according to the App Store).
See no reason for to download if you aren’t willing to pay for it.

Response from developer

See 3.3.3 or later.

Great app

TfL’s statuses are indeed always slow to respond to actual conditions on the ground, so I do greatly appreciate this app. I would consider a pro subscription if it wasn’t priced so extortionately. I assume people are willing to pay it though given it hasn’t come down. It’s useful that you can get the headline data for free either way.

Too many ads and all of the features are now locked behind a paywall

This used to be a good app, it’s now plagued by adverts.. makes it unusable and useless. Everything locked behind paywall.

Response from developer

This review seems to be spam: there are 0 adverts (and never have been). Not everything is locked, it's a freemium app (part free, part paid).

Paygate relaxed, but still

I’m glad to see the developer is responsive to feedback and has relaxed the fierce paygating that came out of nowhere a year ago.

I’d be willing to pay for a pro subscription, but £78/year for a handful of API calls is daylight robbery. Sorry.

Response from developer

Update: As of v2.0.0 it is no more 'paygated' than it was in the earliest version (v1.0.0). --- Hi there, thanks for your feedback but it was never free, it has always been freemium (part free, part paid -- with a free trial). You may have got confused by a cosmetic UI change where lock icons were added. Our math-powered statuses are available for FREE for all lines in the app (and all the information on the official TfL status page is there for free as well). You also get partial access to some pro features for FREE for some lines every day. If you want full access to all pro features you need a subscription. As mentioned: It has always been a freemium app that can be used with or without a subscription. There is also a free trial available for the pro subscription and the app has no ads.

Accurate!

Awesome, has always been reliable and accurate when I’ve used it. Great!

Status is not available free

Claims on their website that status for key lines is available in the supposedly free app. It is not. They try to charge you $70 per year. App uses publicly available data and service used to be free. A total rip off.

Response from developer

Hi there, Actually you seem to be mistaken – you can view both the official TfL status and our math-powered statuses for free for all lines. The app uses both publicly available data and proprietary data (i.e. not just publicly available data). The app has always been freemium (part free, part paid) -- you can use the free version forever no problem if you don't want the advanced Pro features. The app's most advanced features are designed to help you 'upgrade your commute' and are therefore paid features.

Really good app for London Commuters

I just wanted to share my thoughts on the True Tube Status app, which has been incredibly helpful for me during my daily commute on the London Underground. This app is a valuable tool for anyone who wants to stay up-to-date on the TRUE status of all tube lines, including any disruptions or delays.

What sets True Tube Status apart from other similar apps is its user-friendly interface and real-time updates. The app is incredibly intuitive and easy to use, and I've found that the information provided is very helpful.

I'm also excited to see the upcoming updates and new features that the team has planned. If you're a London commuter like me, I highly recommend giving True Tube Status a try. It's a great app for staying on top of your daily journey!

Avoid

It looked impressive until I saw things are locked behind a pathetic £35 a year paywall. No thanks, avoid this app.

Response from developer

Update: As of v2.1.0 those Pro features can be accessed using low cost pay-as-you-go options. (Further update: 0 people bought the pay-as-you-go alternative so it has been removed in v2.1.9 -- can't say I didn't try!) -- Thanks for your feedback. For full access a Pro subscription is required. You can try it for free on the 7-day free trial. If that isn't for you, you can always use the free features without a subscription. There's no advertising for free or Pro users.

Why didn’t TfL think of this?

Brilliant app with accurate service status descriptions. If you want to know the state of your service, use this.

Have been looking for this for years

This is a great app - if you live in London you will appreciate it and the live maps are also great.

Game changer

Found the app on twitter, this is now in my daily life as I commute daily on the central line. I use this to determine when I should change mid journey to another line.

Response from developer

You're using it like a pro MrGribley! Thanks for the awesome review!

Brilliant resource

Found their website by accident via twitter and now have the app. it’s superb, nice and clear, and most importantly accurate. I really hope that the major mapping / directions apps realise that their service would be considerably enhanced by using this data, rather than guesswork / timetables!

Response from developer

Thanks for the kind review! Really glad you like the app.
