Useful tool for artists!
If you’re looking for some advanced photography app that clearly isn’t what this app is intended for. This app is designed to let you quickly view a flipped image and it does so very efficiently. Not everyone may have a specific need for this sort of thing, but for those of us who do, it’s a fantastic choice.
I find it extremely useful as an artist. Normally when I need to quickly check proportions by flipping a non-digital sketch, it requires me to: open the camera app, take a photo, open the photos app, click the edit button, flip the image, and then when I’m done: hit cancel or done, and delete the photo so it doesn’t clutter up my photos app.
True Visage reduces those SEVEN steps down to ONE (since I don’t have to save the image to flip it), seriously streamlining the process, which means fewer interruptions and more time to actually draw.
I also really appreciate that it saves my previously used settings. When I first loaded the app, it was set to the face camera. But after I switched to the rear camera and hit the flip button, it now loads with those settings already selected so it’s all ready to go!
I can’t think of anything that NEEDS improving (at least for my own use case), but I do second the suggestion someone else made to add a vertical flip option in the future! I can definitely see that being a useful addition.
Overall, this app really deserves a 5 star rating. It’s FREE - no in-app purchases, no subscriptions (at least currently), doesn’t seem to collect any personal data (unlike many free apps), and it works exactly as intended. I very much appreciate the developer for making this useful little app available to us.

While I personally found the UI very intuitive, I got the impression from the reviews that some people were unsure how to access certain features so here are some tips:
- For those who are having trouble figuring out how to switch to the rear camera, you need to press the little arrow ^ in the bottom left corner. That loads a list of options including the rear camera setting.
- For those who are complaining the image isn’t mirrored, make sure you’ve actually switched to mirror mode. It’s the icon in the lop left corner with the two faces divided by a dotted line. It looks a little like this (except the faces are solid white): {ˏ̢❩⋮❨ˎ̢}
Upside down?!
