Truegauge shows what your phone is doing right now (CPU load, memory, storage, network speed, data used and battery) and tells you when something needs attention. Turn on an alert and you get a notification when the thermal level reaches Serious or Critical or the battery drops below a level you pick. It now fits every screen you use it on: the folded and open iPhone Duo, your Apple Watch and a Mac with a touch screen.
Alerts and background readings. With Pro, Truegauge also tells you when charging passes a level, free storage runs low or memory is under pressure. It keeps a log of readings for the past 24 hours (7 days with Pro), so you can see when the phone ran hot and how far the battery fell. While the phone is plugged in and idle, it can take a reading every minute for a few minutes.
Apple Watch. The watch app shows the watch's own battery and storage and your phone's last reading. A Past day page charts your phone's thermal level and battery over the last 24 hours. You can set a low battery level on the watch and get a notice when the watch is charging or charged; watchOS wakes the app rarely, so an alert can arrive late. A Phone thermal complication goes on the watch face, complications can move up in the Smart Stack when the phone is at Serious or above or the watch is charging, and Double Tap runs the main action on each page.
iOS does not let apps sample continuously in the background. Readings arrive about every 15 minutes at best, never in Low Power Mode and never with Background App Refresh off. Each reading shows when it was taken, and gaps are drawn as gaps. A Siri shortcut reads out a short report of the past day.
No fake temperature. No app can read your phone's real sensor temperature, so instead of making up a number, Truegauge shows the thermal level the system actually reports (Nominal, Fair, Serious, Critical) and how long your phone has spent at each one. Anything that has to be estimated, like charging watts or battery health, is labeled "Estimated" with a range and a one-line note on how it is calculated. On the desktop version, Truegauge reads real battery data from the hardware, including the battery's own temperature.
What's inside:
- Live dashboard: CPU, memory, storage, network speed, data used, and battery, with history charts
- 18 tools in one toolbox: ping, SSH, Telnet, QR code generator, password generator, decibel meter, compass, altimeter, flashlight, color and brightness test, and more
- Motion tracker: records a route with distance and speed, and keeps recording with the screen locked while a track is running
- Charging sessions: start a detection, see peak watts and energy used, and keep a history of every session
- A live readout on the Lock Screen, with a refresh rate you control and the option to hide it
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, including stackable ones
- Two panes on the open iPhone Duo: Charging, Day report, Toolbox and Settings show a list beside the detail, and nothing is drawn across the fold
- Desk gauge: stand a half-folded iPhone Duo on a table in landscape and Vitals becomes a large readout of thermal level, battery, CPU, network and clock
- Apple Watch app with complications for the watch face
- There is also a Mac version: a menu bar item, a floating panel that stays on top, and a full sidebar window, all ready for touch screens
Free to use: the live dashboard, every reading, and the full refresh rate. Pro is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, and unlocks live readout extras, SSH, charging history, every widget, and the desktop floating panel.
Truegauge runs on your device. There's no account, no analytics, and no network connection except the one a tool you choose to run needs (ping, SSH, Telnet).
