FAQ

What does TrueWorld Maps do?

TrueWorld Maps allows you to visualize the true sizes of countries by dragging them across a map. It helps you understand how map projections distort the perceived size of landmasses, especially as they move away from the equator. You can also learn interesting facts about each country.

How can I compare country sizes?

You can compare country sizes by searching for a country or tapping and holding on it to select it. Once selected, you can drag the country around the map. As you move it, you'll see its size change in relation to its new position, demonstrating its true dimensions.

Is this app free to use?

The app is free to download and use, but it does contain advertisements and offers in-app purchases. These purchases may enhance the user experience or unlock additional features.

Who is this app for?

This app is designed for teachers, students, and anyone with an interest in geography. It's a valuable tool for understanding cartographic distortions and learning about the relative sizes and facts of countries worldwide.

Does the app accurately show political boundaries?

The primary purpose of this app is to illustrate the relative sizes of countries and the effects of map distortions. It is not intended to accurately reflect current national boundaries or political statuses, as these can change and are complex.
