Well well, I got three of swords because i just made new friends online and feel like they dont want to be my friend or im being annoying because they are nice but yeah. Ok app it just has some niggles here are there
Twice in one week, I got a reading that used the word “niggles” to describe minor inconveniences. Once is random. Twice is weird, especially when the rest of the app uses completely normal, modern American English. It’s such an unusual word choice in this context that it felt deliberate.
What made it worse was the owner’s response when I asked about it: “Genuinely curious, what is your concern with the word niggles? It means a minor annoyance. It’s not offensive or a slur.”
That completely missed the point. I wasn’t asking whether the word appears in a dictionary or whether it is technically a slur. I was questioning why this unusually specific word was being used repeatedly in an app that otherwise doesn’t speak that way. Instead of even acknowledging why that might raise an eyebrow, the response was essentially, “It’s not technically offensive, so deal with it.”
I like the app, but that response left a really bad taste in my mouth.
