This app is genuinely insufferable. I’ve had to delete it 3 separate times because it will not let me log in properly and gives me different roadblocks each time. The settings menu is a joke and when it actually lets you watch something it gives you more ads than a pirated site. You’d be better off trying to stream march madness on a potato.

This app is complete trash won’t even let me sign into my TV provider
Lied about being free with ads
Without warning, the livestream will occasionally require you to sign in to your TV provider. I was watching the livestream just fine, then experienced a 13-minute ad break with no video. After the ad break was done, it would not let me continue without signing in with my tv provider. This is not what was advertised.

Wow this is bad
This app is comically bad. I downloaded it to watch a basketball game and I caught about 5 total minutes of it — not because I was unavailable, but because it is completely unusable and will not load anything.
I try to close the app and reopen in order to get it to play? That’ll be a 90 second unskippable ad followed by a black screen. Etc etc.

Non-functional
I have tried over and over to sign in to my Spectrum account, but it just goes white when I click on Spectrum. Useless.
This app was made by black people which is a good thing!

Does not let you use TV Provider
We pay for this channel but the app asks for TV Provider and only gives a blank white screen

This app is terrible it’s just trash. You’re lucky to get anything to play but beware, if you touch the screen during playback it will play an absurd amount of ads. If you breathe too much, it plays an absurd amount of ads, if you love ads, it plays and absurd amount of ads, and if you hate ads, it plays even more than that. Ads aren’t even good they are the same ads over and over again played by Jennifer Gardner who’s clearly hurting for money these days.

Can’t even sign in to my tv provider to watch things the app keeps crashing

Asks for location, still doesn’t work
Asked for location permission, but no matter what access I grant it, it keeps telling me it needs the permission. Worst TV Channel app I’ve used yet, and that’s saying something bc the NBC Sports app is complete garbage.
Buggy
App asks for location to determine programming. You turn it on, it keeps asking for it. App is buggy and doesn’t function.
Out of Synch for Live Sports
The audio and video are frequently severely out of synch! Very annoying. No way to fix other than closing the app. It’s like the video freezes and the audio proceeds. With any bandwidth blips it gets worse and worse. Super frustrating… especially since when you come back into the app, you have MISSED whatever you missed!!

Closed caption problems
I can’t turn off the closed captions in Apple TV. I can see the “button” sometimes, not always, I can never access it
User not authorized
I’m signed in with Dish, yet get a User not Authorized error. What a joke of a company….
Captuons
I love that I can watch some shows on TruTV, especially sporting events that are supposed to be on TBS but start late for one reason or another. However, I can’t for the life of me on the Apple TV find a way to shut off the closed captions. I see the CC briefly on the screen when you go to live TV, but there’s no way to actually select it and shut them off. I’ve checked my settings and all captions are turned off in the main settings so I’m not sure why TruTV on the Apple TV is ignoring my settings and won’t let me shut them off. They take up too much room on the screen; it’s annoying. Other than that, it’s just as good as any other TV app.

Absolutely Terrible
I have never written a review before and haven’t really cared to until now. This app is atrocious, I downloaded it and tried to sign into my cable account so I can watch March Madness. Every time I entered my username and password CORRECTLY, it would send me back to the app and then tell me I needed to sign in if I wanted to watch live TV. After deleting and redownloading about 5 times today, I have given up and decided I’ll watch the scoreboard from CBS… Terrible

Absolutely Useless — Unwatchable
The truTV Apple TV app is awful. Makes me dislike the truTV network. The app forces you to restart an episode when you exit the episode. It doesn’t bookmark where you left off. WORSE YET, IT FORCIBLY REPLAYS ADS. EACH AND EVERY TIME. Can’t turn off the closed captions. Horrible viewing experience. The team that developed this app should be forced to use it for eight hours a day for a month. If I could rate zero stars, I would.
