Problems with the App

Pros:
- This app's eq is the best I've tried from any of the other apps. The frequencies what you need to mix and I love that you can mix for different libraries
- I love that the images saved with the mp3 are shown when you transfer over files.
- You can edit the files' names, artists, and pictures.
- The scan Tuneo folder is very useful for when you add in new songs.

Cons:
- Some of the files I have can't be transfered over to the app. They're all mp3 files and they're also not corrupted. I've tried to change the name of the file, change the properties, and even used a new downloader, but nothing seems to work.
- Artists who have collaborated with other artists are listed under a separate artist name instead of just having the file exist in both artists. This is especially frustrating when having I can't play an album in its entirity because of this.
- Album songs are shuffled in a random order which have to be manually sorted even if the mp3 file has the songs' order number.
- When adding in new songs, sometimes an old deleted song pops up and has to be deleted again.

The first con is the real issue I have with the app. I'm going to keep my review 2 stars until it gets fixed.

Update:
The new updates fixed the problems I had with importing files. They no longer duplicate and my uncorrupted files can be imported, as well. I am very grateful for.

Thank you for the detailed review and for taking the time to point out both the good and bad parts of the app. Really glad you liked the EQ system, metadata editing, artwork support, and the Tuneo folder scanning feature, especially the EQ feedback since we spent a lot of time trying to make it more flexible and useful compared to other music players. For the issues you mentioned: 1. We’re going to investigate the MP3 import issue on our side and test with different files and metadata combinations to figure out what’s causing it. Since you mentioned the files are valid MP3s, there’s likely an edge case in the import or metadata extraction logic that we need to improve. 2 & 3. We’re already working on improvements for artist handling/collaborations and album track ordering, and these changes are planned for the next update. 4. We also plan to improve deleted-song handling in the next update so previously removed songs don’t unexpectedly reappear during imports. Instead, Tuneo will detect them and ask whether you want to re-import or skip them. Thanks again for the honest feedback, reviews like this genuinely help improve the app.

Love it!

Excellent! I used the free version for less than 4 days before upgrading to Lifetime Pro. Best features: sound booster, equaliser, file organiser, metadata management, clean modern UI and everything else I’ve tried is absolutely amazing!
Customer support is great too!
100% Recommended. (=

That is incredibly kind of you! Thank you so much for the amazing support and feedback!! We really appreciate it!!!

Great MP3 Player!

I’ve been using Tuneo for around 2 months now, and with the most recent update, all of my wants have pretty much been answered. Tuneo is a great app if you want something simple but still with great customization features. The app is still completely usable without the pro features, though they are a very nice touch. The UI is also very similar to that of Apple Music, so it has a very clean look.

One request

I love the app so far.
I have one request : is it possible to class tracks within artist or album folder by alphabetical order ?

Response from developer

Thanks for the amazing rating! As of now we don't have it, but we will consider adding this feature in future updates.

Response from developer

---- Thank you for your feedback. Only advanced functionalities require a subscription. We appreciate your input and hope you will give the app another try.

Does Tuneo Pro support Family Sharing?

Please clarify if Tuneo Pro version supports Family Sharing? The Terms of Service indicates the Pro features are for a specific Apple ID while the App Store mentions it support Family Sharing.
Other apps provide more clarity on Family Sharing, and indicate 6 users can use the purchased app.

I’m giving 4* because of the lack of clarity.

Response from developer

Thanks for the amazing rating! Yes, the Tuneo Pro version supports Family Sharing. Family Sharing is managed according to Apple's policies, so Tuneo Pro will be available to all family members included in your Family Sharing group, subject to Apple's limits and settings.

Couldn’t figure out how to use it

Couldn’t figure out how to transfer over my music. $10 down the drain.

Response from developer

Hi Carla, I'm sorry to hear you had trouble importing your music. Tuneo supports several different import methods, and all music must first be placed inside the Tuneo app folder in the Files app. You can find it under: Files → On My iPhone → Tuneo There are four ways to import music: • Import Playlist Folders — Place playlist folders inside the Playlist folder and use the "Import Playlist Folder" option. • Import Artist Folders — Place artist folders inside the Tuneo directory. Artist folders can also contain album folders, and Tuneo will import them automatically. • Import Audio Files — Select audio files directly and Tuneo will copy them into its music library. • Scan TuneoMusic Folder — If you've already copied songs into the TuneoMusic folder, this option will scan and import them. If you're still having trouble, please contact me at tuneoofflinemusicplayer@gmail.com and I'll be happy to help you get your music imported. Also, if Tuneo doesn't meet your needs, Apple can assist with refund requests through their standard App Store refund process. Regards, Tuneo Developer

Thank you so much for the amazing rating!

Good app if your not expecting Spotify sort of smoothness

I honestly have no issues with the app but it seems like the app just want to always skip the last second or two of the song. Really messes me up but it’s good even with that. Like how it’s built and the fact that the only real ad I gotten so far here was for the premium version of this which doesn’t sound bad for a broke person like me who can’t afford a subscription for anything. Real good app I just wish that audio thing can be dealt with.

Response from developer

Thank you for the honest feedback! I really appreciate it, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the app overall. The issue where the song skips the last second or two definitely shouldn’t be happening. I’ll look into this and work on improving it in future updates. Also, thank you for mentioning the premium prompts, I’ve tried to keep the app useful for everyone while keeping the upgrade optional, so it means a lot to hear that. Really appreciate your support and the detailed feedback!

Decent app but it’s stuck in shuffle

It’s a decent app but songs in playlist are stuck in shuffle for some reason

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to share this. I think I understand what might be causing the confusion. The shuffle button in the player is currently shown in an “active” style when shuffle is available (for example, when there’s more than one song in the queue), but shuffle is only actually applied when you tap the button. I realize this can make it seem like shuffle is already turned on, which isn’t ideal. I’ll be updating this in the next version so the button appears inactive by default and only becomes highlighted when shuffle is actually enabled. Thanks again for pointing this out, it really helps improve the experience.

Data not collected

Thank you for respecting user privacy and making an intuitive offline music app!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the amazing rating, really appreciate your support! And that was the plan all along, I never understood why so many apps collect user activity data, it just didn’t make sense to me. That’s exactly why I built Tuneo: 100% privacy, no ads, no tracking at all.

Response from developer

Response from developer

Exactly what I’ve been looking for

Clear design and has every feature that I need, love it. Just I would like to know if I can edit the playlist cover and if the artist appear to be “unknown artist”, can I change it? But overall probably the only app that truely made offline music possible. Great work

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the kind words & I’m really glad you’re enjoying Tuneo ❤️! At the moment, custom playlist cover editing isn’t available yet, but it’s something I may consider adding in a future update. Regarding artists, yes, you have full control. You can edit artist details (name, image), delete artists, and assign tracks to specific artists. So if a track shows “Unknown Artist,” you can update it and organize it as you prefer.

Awesome app although a bit rough around the edges

This app is the closest one in look and feel to Apple Music (which is what I wanted) and it’s simple and straightforward for anyone who wants to listen to offline music. However, it has two issues for me. One, the app is really slow; sometimes I have to press a button two or three times for something to happen, sometimes I have to wait about 1-3 seconds for it to happen. Idk if this is because the playlist is still indexing or too big (or something) but it’s quite annoying and makes the app borderline unusable. Second, I really wish I could make playlists by selecting folders of music. I know there’s a whole folder structure thing that lets Tuneo self-update but this doesn’t work for me since I wanna keep my music synced with iCloud. However I have high hopes for this app and I hope more people discover it! For an app that’s less than a year old this is an impressive job and the premium seems reasonable.

Response from developer

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback and for giving Tuneo a try & I’m really glad you like the design and overall experience! Regarding playlists: in the latest update we’ve introduced Playlist Folder Import for Pro users, which lets you create playlist folders inside the Tuneo directory and import them easily. This should make managing playlists much simpler. About iCloud syncing, audio files need to reside inside the Tuneo/ directory (Files → On My iPhone → Tuneo). If the files are stored outside this directory, working with them becomes significantly more complex due to Apple’s file access and security restrictions. Since Tuneo is designed to be simple and reliable, keeping the music inside the Tuneo folder allows the app to import, organize, and manage files much more smoothly. As for the performance issue: in the recent updates we moved much of the app’s architecture to newer native systems, which has improved performance in many areas. However, if you’re still experiencing slow interactions, that’s definitely something we want to keep improving. Performance optimizations will continue to be part of future updates. Thanks again for the kind words and for supporting the app, feedback like this really helps make Tuneo better!
