Fantastic for all kinds of trad music
Great app but I have difficulty printing the sheet music, as soon as I try to print, the app crashes.
One out of five ainโt great
Not great for finding tunes, but it could be helpful creating sets based on similar.
Not so good
The issue is that in order to get tunes into the tunepal app, you have to know how to play it and record it then it will look up the tune. It would be nice if there was another way to get tunes into it but sorry!
Best app for trad music lovers
This app is indispensable for anyone playing Irish trad music. When you think of the time and effort saved in finding tunes, and in identifying tunes on the fly, it is worth far more than the cost.
Favorite app but...
This is one of my favorite apps, but Iโm unhappy about having to buy the IOS 11 upgrade when Iโve already bought the app.
I've Used It With Success
I've read the negative reviews and I,'m not sure what's going on. I've used this APP on both my iPhone 6 & 7 as well as my iPad 3 with good success. I've used it at several pub sessions in Ireland to check a tune and find the title and it's worked every time, so my experience has only been positive. I agree that the developer should update it. It's been quite a long time since it has been.

Crashes every time I open it
Doesn't work on iPad Air 2. Come on man, fix it. You're stealing our money.
TunePal does not open!!
Purchased this app after checking to be sure it is compatible with my operating system and it will not open at all. Waste of money.
Buggy UI
Since this is one of those apps that charges you again to get an iPad version, I expect the IPad version to WORK on the iPad! For example, his one does NOT properly track the orientation, especially when locked in landscape mode - probably the most common usage scenario for music apps on the iPad...
This is really annoying - I find that I'd much rather use the "standard" version on my iPad than the version I paid an extra $10 for.
Come on folks! Do a little testing and fix this so it's worth the price!
I'd suggest waiting until they do to buy it.

It works for me
I have used the iPhone version for some time. I wanted the iPad version so I could see the sheet music better. I use it for finding tunes. If I like a particular tune I "record" it and pull up the actual tune along with a bunch of similar tunes. For me it's a treasure trove of new (to me) and wonderful music to play.

Try it
I dont need to say more than this app is excellent. Try iit and buy iit.
Waste of Time, Waste of Money
I wrote a comprehensive detailed review of this app outlining all its quirks and failures and the review never showed up. So here is a more brief review. The Tunepal app is an irritation and waste of money. If you type in the tune you want, it will find only one version from each of the sites that it uses as a resource, even though other and better versions of the tune exists. Also, there are excellent sites not included in its search database. It's file management system is awkward, very limited, and even has a bug that will change the title information. The app also has a bad habit of re-inserting deleted files. It's edit area is poor with no play button and a window that does not display correctly. The banjo sound is not good and many of the other instruments were not particularly pleasant. The list of what is wrong with this app could go on and on, but I'm really tired of messing with it. It may make you happy that it can recognize a tune if you play it carefully in a quiet room but it is otherwise a poor app.

Great way to keep track of tunes
I have been using this app on my phone for a couple of years now and I just downloaded it on to my iPad. I love this app for finding tunes and keeping track of tune names that I pick up at sessions.
The tune recognition software isn't always accurate, but it works alright. The best part is the one stop shop for looking up tunes, and now on the iPad it will be a lot easier to practice them! I also love how easy it is to look up what albums have that tune.
The only gripe I have is that there isn't a way to organize my tunes. You can favorite any tune, but I'd like to be able to sort them or put them in sets. Exporting tune PDFs would also be a plus. But, as it is....definitely worth the money.

Well..... I've thrown away $10 before, but I coulda had a couple of
Starbucks lattes instead of wasting memory on this thing.
OK..... Just tell me how " Garret Barry's" is identified as "The Kid on the Mountain"? (to be fair.......15 other tries of simple , well known tunes weren't even close.)
Merci pour rien

Must have!
If you play tunes or you are an avid listener this app will be very important to you. The collection of tunes alone is unbelievable. The ability to determine the tune you are playing is invaluable.
The BEST app of its kind
I just upgraded from the regular Tunepal to the HD version because I liked the original so much. For active traditional Irish musicians like myself, this app is a must have. Whether it's the "record to I.D." feature to find a song you don't know the name to; or a convenient way to store all of your gig or session tunes, it displays them in both the ABC format or sheet music style. Sometimes you might just need a convenient app to house all of your traditional songs and need something to play along with. This app has it all.
The only thing I would like to see on it would be a better MIDI synthesizer which includes an Uilleann pipe sound bank and the ability to automatically transpose the songs and not just the tones.
