About

Turnglass is a focus timer you start by turning your phone over. That is the start button. Pick the phone up, turn it face-down on the desk, and the glass overturns as it goes — the settled pool lifts, the neck opens, the column breaks loose. Then the screen goes black against the table and the session runs in the dark. WHY IT WORKS THIS WAY You already do this. You have a thing you are avoiding, so you turn your phone over and push it away. Turnglass makes that gesture the whole interface: the motion that starts the timer is the motion that gets the phone out of your reach. Nothing to tap. Nothing left lit beside you. NO COUNTDOWN, ANYWHERE The glass never shows a number. A number you can glance at is a distraction machine, so this one is fogged over. If you really must know, pick the phone up and drag a finger across the condensation — "14 min", etched underneath, briefly legible — and then it fogs back over and forgets you asked. Checking the time costs a deliberate gesture. And picking the phone up holds the glass rather than running it down, so twenty-five minutes means twenty-five minutes of phone-away time, not twenty-five minutes of wall clock. THE REWARD FOR FINISHING IS STILLNESS When the glass empties it buzzes once on the table. You turn it back over and the liquid has settled to complete stillness in a full lower bulb. No badge. No confetti. No streak. Nothing else happens, and that is the point. Each finished session settles as one thin band in the sill beside the glass. Four sessions today is four bands. There is no score, no weekly average and no comparison to yesterday. WHAT YOU GET, FREE • Three glasses — 15, 25 and 50 minutes • Start by turning the phone over, or tap "Set it down" if it is in a stand, a mount, or your hand • The wipe: the time exists, but it costs you a gesture • Pick the phone up and the glass holds; set it back down and it resumes • Press and hold the glass to end a session early • One buzz when the glass empties — the only notification this app will ever send • Today's sill WHAT YOU WILL NOT FIND IN HERE • No streaks, badges, points, levels or focus scores • No countdown on the main screen, ever • No app blocking, and no permission to police your phone with • No ambient sound, no white noise, no media player • No account, no sign-up, no sync, no leaderboards • No ads, no tracking, no AI TURNGLASS DEEP — $2.99, ONCE Every day you have ever filled, kept. Custom glass sizes from 5 to 90 minutes. Alternate glass tints. Never a subscription, under any name. NO ACCOUNT. NO NETWORK. NO SUBSCRIPTION. There is no network stack in this app at all — no analytics, no crash reporting, no remote config, nothing to sync. Your sessions live on this phone and nowhere else. That is why the privacy label says "Data Not Collected": not as a policy, as an architecture.
