This update adds an age verification gate to comply with upcoming state children's online privacy laws (Utah COPPA effective May 6, 2026; Louisiana effective July 1, 2026). On first use of an AI feature, users are presented with a prompt asking whether they are 13 or older. Users who indicate they are under 13 are blocked from accessing AI-generated recipe suggestions. All other app functionality — browsing, saving, and viewing recipes — remains available to them. Users who confirm they are 13 or older proceed normally. The gate is triggered on first tap of an AI feature and the user's response is persisted locally so they are not asked again on subsequent sessions. No new data is collected or transmitted as a result of this implementation.
