About

Have you ever spotted a turtle making its slow, determined journey across a road—and pulled over to help? That moment of kindness now has a home. Turtle Ride Share is the community app for people who give turtles a safe crossing. Every rescue gets documented, shared, and added to a growing map of where turtles need us most. Document Your Rescue Right after you help a turtle cross, open the app and log it. Snap a photo, note the species, mark the direction it was heading. The whole process takes under a minute—and what you're left with is a permanent record of something genuinely good you did. No rescue is too small. A painted turtle in a cul-de-sac matters just as much as a snapping turtle on a rural highway. See It on the Map Every rescue appears on a live community map. Zoom out and clusters form—busy crossing corridors, hotspots near wetlands, high-risk road stretches. Zoom in and you'll find individual rescues with photos and notes from the people who stopped. Why It Matters Turtles are among the most road-vulnerable animals in North America. Many species take over a decade to reach breeding age—one adult lost on a road represents years of lost reproductive potential. Citizen documentation gives researchers data that's nearly impossible to gather any other way, and enough logged rescues along a single stretch of road can support wildlife crossing proposals and local habitat protection. Every entry is a small piece of something larger. What You Can Do Log crossings with photo, species, and location Track all your personal rescues View a live map of community rescues worldwide Discover which roads near you are active crossing zones Pull over. Help a turtle. Log the ride.
