Perfect unless you are trigger happy

Update: I love the updates! They make it nearly perfect.

I recently described this app as exactly like I would have designed it, only it is simpler and better 🤣.

First, what it excels at:
Easy to use, easy to understand, fast (with the proper hardware) and efficient. I can just plug in my field backup ssd drive, my camera memory card, press the check button and go. It gives great feedback.

I love how it can group by date and sub-group by file type.

The only real challenge I have is when using this with big events like air shows or photo safaris. When you spend a day shooting, you can exceed more than 10,000 pictures. That means this app will fail the check because it will end up with two pictures with the same name. I wish it would rename the second one with a (2) so I could do full field backups.

Response from developer

Thank you for the new feedback! It's nice to hear that you like the app :) I released a new version (1.4.0), which has 3 new features, including "Rename with suffix". You can enable it via Settings -> File handling. Feature has some limitations, but still, should be useful.

A basic but functional tool

For me, this is *almost* perfect to solve a very specific use case.

I was on a photography safari in Africa. I spent each day shooting high volumes of pictures on a high-end camera. It is not hard to take 6,000-8,000 pictures a day. If you capture both JPG and RAW images, you have more than 10,000 files in a day. I needed a field backup that could handle that, and I lugged my laptop which could easily handle the load.

This app gets me close to not needing that laptop!

Note to the developer: two or three enhancements would make this a fantastic field backup tool for high-end photographers!

1-increase or remove the limit on number of images you can backup above 10000. (Or allow more filters, like down to the hour since I produced more than 10,000 in a day)
2- Add an option that automatically puts files into folders based on date.
3- Add an option that automatically puts files into folders based on file type. This would quickly separate images (jpg) from raw from video.
Example: target folder/ <date:YYYY-MM-DD>/<type>

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback! Max files limit was increased to 20,000 in version 1.1.1. Regarding folder feature - I'll consider it (I had similar idea).
