The app looks for the ports a set opens for its own remote, so one that advertises nothing at all still turns up. Typing an address still works when nothing else does. • The keyboard. Type into the TV's search box from the phone (Samsung, LG and Roku) instead of picking out letters with the arrows. • Apps, from the list the television itself reports — and waking a set from standby over Wi-Fi. • The app now speaks French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese as well as English. • A free trial that opens everything, and a one-off purchase for anyone who would rather not subscribe.
