Best dictionary, but we’re missing out on EVERYTHING TWA has to offer!
As a former TWA curriculum student, I was pretty bummed to see that even those who pay for the subscription don’t get access to the Conversation Starter videos/worksheets, DTT videos/worksheets, POA videos/worksheets, etc. I bought a subscription hoping I would gain access to those things once I paid, because they really helped me improve my skills when I used the curriculum in my ASL class.
Otherwise, it’s a good dictionary. Just wish there was an option for us to be able to pay for the full TWA experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry if the subscription model wasn’t clear upfront. We have reviewed our app description, and it does state that What’s the Sign? operates on a subscription plan. That said, we’ll continue to evaluate the wording to ensure it’s as transparent as possible. The reason the app is subscription-based is that our team is continually adding new content and updating current entries in the dictionary. Your subscription directly supports these efforts, allowing us to create fresh and exciting content informed by the latest linguistics research and contributions from the community. We truly value your input, and I hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future!
