Problem
Downloaded about a month ago and had very good use of this app whilst on holiday in New Zealand. However couple of days ago app stopped working . Just a blank screen. ?????

This timing aligns with an update we recently released which should be making your experience a whole lot better. From time to time this can be a device specific update issue and best steps would be to try remove and reinstall the app. Hopefully this resolves the issue for you but if not please do reach out to us directly on Instagram @twitcher.nz and we can work through getting this resolved. 😁
Good, no range maps
Great intro birding app for the price. It does not have range maps or illustrations, only photos.
Transparency
Since most of the Birds are locked/premium (has it always been like this?) you might as well say you'll need to pay $15 to actually use it. $10 I'd pay $15 nah

I ended up buying the full version of this app and it’s so great. The only thing I’d add is the option to see more pictures of the birds and also a key that explains the symbols when you click on a bird you’d like to know more about.

Love it, but more photos please!
I Love this app! However, for sexually dimorphic birds such as Hihi and Titiponamu it would be fabulous to have photos of both sexes. Thanks for all your hard work!!
Very easy to use.
I really like this. My son and I use it to keep an easy record of NZ birds we find when we are out and about. I’m thinking though they may not have all the birds out there in nz on this app so hopefully they will keep updating their selection. But happy overall

Lovely design, clean and simple. Does exactly what I want it to - including call sounds, images, key information for each bird. No more, no less, just right. Ka pai!
Would be good to include somewhere in app to report the odd bug found as some of my filters aren’t working. Habitat and name preference are displaying no results when selected currently

An excellent field guide
I had been looking for an electronic equivalent to the definitive books I grew up with and this is it.
I have only two issues with it.
First is that the Latin names are too difficult to read. They are pale and in an overly cursive font.
Second, I could find no support link in the app to report the above issue, and when I used the one in the App Store it lead to a Facebook page.

Excellent identification app but…
Comprehensive with excellent search and filter functions.
Would be improved with:
More photos of each bird
Maps of distribution, nesting sites for seabirds (ask Birds NZ)

This is a good ap but is lacking a number of NZ birds which I would have expected to be there most notably NZ Pidgeon

Kia Ora. Twitcher covers over 250 species including the beloved Kererū. However in order for the search function to work correctly, species are subject to the correct spelling and the common name used here in Aotearoa. In this case the Kereru will return the result you are after!

What an awesome pocket guide to identify New Zealand birds while out and about on adventures. So easy to use and with the filter system it makes it so easy to identify birds on the go. Well worth getting if you want to expand your birding knowledge
Excellent NZ bird watching tool
I have been using this to help me identify all the birds in our back garden. It’s well thought out and easy to use, and is far better than getting a book out every time you want to look up a NZ bird. A great bird pocket guide!
