Retro Fire!

Spend most of my time playing newer games wondering why I can't get into them like I did with Tempest and Stargate...which came out 25+ years ago. UFOWars has all the feel and the longtime old school fun and sounds that keeps me coming back trying to beat my old high score. truly a classic, wish we saw more games like this! Thanks 733tc0d3r!

Addictive retro-cool

Great little game, simply fun 80s style arcade shooter

Nice retro throwback.

This game is for geezers like me who aren't turned off by the phrase "retro-style graphics." This game starts out slow and easy, but quickly builds into difficult-to-survive mayhem, just like a classic arcade game is supposed to do. When you're dead, that's it -- but the game gives you a shield and plenty of opportunities to heal yourself, so when you fail, it never seems cheap. Sounds and graphics are simple but effective, and the controls are sharp and precise. It's worth the asking price if you like this style of game. I'm not sure if it's deliberate, but this game reminds me of the game "UFO!" on the very old Magnavox Odyssey 2 game system (Philips Videopac in Europe). It's rare to see this style of gameplay. If you were to release an update with a mode in which the enemies exploded in a 3-way star pattern that would in turn blow up the guys around them, I'd revise this to be a 4-star review. Do it with homage graphics and a shield that regenerates itself when you don't get hit for a few seconds, and you would have an instant 5-star classic that would be the buzz of retrogame town.
