The app is paid to make it sustainable since it takes a lot of engineering and design work to make it work with all the different components, with a user friendly user interface and to update components as the OS evolves. Please understand that the app is for user interface components and should not be mistaken with the "Swift Playgrounds" which is an app with a programming environment. An essential tool for ios Designers and Engineers
This is an amazing one of a kind app and very useful in supplement to the HIG documentation (which is so not enough).
I like how it keeps the apple design system true native and UX designers can transform their app designs with native patterns with much more knowledge.
