This app does not work as advertised. Not even all the controls are available. Waste of $.99. I'm glad it wasn't more costly

Great app [updated]

Works great. Especially like that it tells you what the qr code contains without having to act on it (example: scan & see what URL is before clicking to visit URL - much better than just going to URL). Also like that it can use either scanned code (photo of qr code already saved in device) or live new code. Privacy promised-- to me that's a must. Works great. Thank you. [Update: Could you please: 1-add a 'copy' button to make it easier to copy the scanned text, and 2 - add a custom URL scheme so I can open this app from my launcher. Thank you.]

Needed a reader

Needed a reader and this one should have worked. I want my money back. Beta versions should be free as this one needs more testing. Boooo.

Clean and super-fast

I've tried most of the free QR code readers out there, and finally spent a dollar on this one. I'm glad I did.

PROS:
+ super-responsive on my iOS4 3GS
+ no "picture" or resizing needed
+ simple, polished interface
+ no web redirection, so your data stays private (unlike scanlife and i-nigma)
+ reads URLs, plain text, and phone numbers

CONS:
- only parses simple QR codes; no support for VCard, MeCard, email, or SMS codes
- no history of scanned codes
- can't read from your photo library

The confidentiality was a deal-breaker for other scanners, as I need to scan internal-to-my-company QR codes; you should still worry about your data privacy. In short, this app is great, and hopefully it will support more native formats soon!
