Uninvited Presence is a growing collection of short indie horror stories for iPhone and iPad. No jump-scare corridors. Just ordinary places that stop feeling ordinary.
THE STORIES
• The Walls. Moving day into a creaky rental house, then finals week. Every morning something has moved. Film the kitchen at night, tape the closet shut, and when the storm comes, find somewhere to hide until help arrives.
• The Blinds. A humid August night, an essay due first period, and something scratching at the bedroom window. Part the slats and look. Usually it is a branch.
• Blue Dust. A clinic that moved away and left a heavy machine in its ruins. Break it open, sell the scrap, and share the powder that glows like blue sugar. Then take what is left across town, to someone who will listen.
• Ridge Road. The radio warns about cars stopped across mountain roads, and you take the ridge road anyway. An empty pickup with its hazards on blocks the pass. In your mirror, three cars roll up with their lights off.
• The Survey. One snowy night in a small apartment. A flyer under the door promised a city health screening. The soft-spoken caller gets more personal with every call, and his car idles under your window. What you tell him, and which lights you leave on, decide how the night ends.
• Under the Floor. Four friends rent an old farmhouse for an autumn weekend. Small things are out of place. Tell the others or keep it to yourself, then crawl beneath the house with only a phone light.
• Under the Bridge. A late afternoon of fishing with your little brother, until a friendly stranger walks up leading a small, dirty boy by the hand. Watch the boy's face, find a way to get help, and get home before the stranger catches up.
• The Sleepers. An apprentice's first night alone on call at a funeral home. The freight elevator only runs with a key, and tonight it is running on its own. Someone else is spending the night in the building.
• The Watcher. An old house you have just bought, empty while you paint it before moving day. The first letter in the mailbox welcomes you to the street. The next one knows which rooms the children will sleep in. Keep a notebook of everyone you see from the windows. Inspired by a real case that was never solved.
• Downstream. An airport gate, a storm over the rain forest, and then the forest floor. Seventeen and alone, still strapped to your seat, with a bag of sweets and a deep cut on your arm. Search planes pass over the canopy and never see you. Follow the water. Inspired by a real survival in the Peruvian Amazon.
• One Night. A night survey of an empty palace on a hill: thirty five rooms, forty chandeliers, no power for thirty years. Your thermal camera shows what the torch cannot, and the voice on the radio keeps you company. Through the camera, nothing in the house moves. Watch the battery. Inspired by a real palace in the Gulf that its family left after a single night.
HOW IT PLAYS
• Ordinary evenings: chores, homework, a fishing trip. Then something is wrong.
• Choices that change how a night ends, and details that change every time you play.
• Fully voiced characters, detailed places, and a soundscape built for headphones.
• Played in landscape: left thumb to move, right thumb to look.
