About

UniRide is a student-exclusive carpooling application designed to help college students share rides safely, affordably, and conveniently within their campus community. The platform provides a trusted environment where verified students can either offer rides or find travel companions heading to the same destination. By using institutional email verification, UniRide ensures that only enrolled students gain access, fostering a secure and community-driven ecosystem. One of UniRide’s core features is the Ride Posting System, which allows students to list upcoming trips with key details such as origin, destination, date, time, available seats, and fare. This makes it easy for others to discover and join rides that align with their schedules. The app also features an in-app Community Hub, where students can connect, share travel tips, and coordinate rides for events, trips, or semester breaks. This encourages stronger connections and builds trust within the campus network. Each user has a dedicated profile showcasing their ride history, ratings, and verified student status — promoting transparency and accountability across the platform. UniRide aims to make student commuting more affordable, sustainable, and social by connecting individuals who are already traveling along similar routes. Whether commuting between campuses, heading home during breaks, or seeking a reliable and cost-effective alternative to solo travel, UniRide offers a smarter way to move.

What's New in UniRide

We have successfully implemented several critical updates across the application to enhance both functionality and user experience, starting with global UI improvements like standardizing top padding for Apple system compliance and ensuring full responsiveness throughout the platform. The notification system is now synchronized, accurately reflecting the count from the in-app bell icon directly onto the application icon badge. In the Community section, we integrated a comprehensive engagement system for liking, commenting, and reporting, refined the text interface, corrected event mock data, and introduced the "Super Charge" event feature. Profile management has been stabilized by fixing the privacy, support, and home location editing functions, while also cleaning up the interface and correcting the arrow alignment in the vehicles section. On the Home page, responsiveness issues were resolved alongside fixing driver profile loading and rating visibility on ride cards. Finally, the ride management system was upgraded to improve seat allocation and location-based limitations for offering rides, while the "My Ride" section now features a refined passenger view, corrected payment status for canceled rides, and a fully functional chat system.
