About
Open nearly any score file, or start from a blank staff, and work with real notation. Tap in notes, drag them into place, hear the tune played back, and print a clean score when it's ready.
WRITING MUSIC, WITHOUT THE FIGHT
Tap notes onto the staff from a simple palette: pitches, durations, rests, new bars, and drag any notehead up or down to change its pitch. It snaps to the key you're in.
On the Mac, the keyboard does the work: arrow keys move the selection and nudge pitch, one shortcut duplicates a note, another deletes it. On iPhone and iPad it's all touch.
Play a melody on the built-in piano keyboard and watch it land on the staff as notation, with the rhythms, chords, rests, ties, and accidentals worked out.
Every tune is plain text underneath, the ABC format the folk and session world runs on, and you can edit that source directly whenever it's faster.
OPENS WHAT MUSICIANS ACTUALLY TRADE
ABC tunes and whole tunebooks: a collection opens with a searchable list, so a thousand tune book is as easy to move around as one jig.
MusicXML from the big notation apps, compressed or not, plus MEI and standard MIDI files.
Guitar Pro files across the generations, and MuseScore, Finale, PowerTab, TuxGuitar, and ASCII tab.
Files are recognized by what's inside them, not by their name, so a mislabeled download still opens.
PRACTICE WITH IT
Play any tune back, from half speed while your fingers learn it up to double speed.
Loop the hard passage, keep time with the metronome, and start each take with a count-in.
See any tune as tablature: guitar, bass, ukulele, or mandolin. Adjust a fret, move a note to another string without changing its pitch, and mark playing techniques.
HIGHLIGHTS
Scores that print beautifully: engraving is fully vector, on paper and in PDF and SVG exports, so it stays sharp at any size.
Share in their format: export MusicXML, MEI, Guitar Pro, MIDI, ABC, ASCII tab, a PNG image, or a WAV recording of the playback.
Record an idea before it escapes: open the piano, play the phrase, and it's notation you can refine.
Everything on your device: writing, playback, and rendering all happen locally, with no signal required.
ONE PURCHASE, EVERY DEVICE One purchase covers Mac, iPhone, and iPad. No account, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your music stays on your device.
