Outstanding tool for making learning visible

Unrulr has developed a powerful tool for learners to document and reflect on their learning. The company is very responsive to new ideas and incorporates feedback to make improvements.

Unrulr works on iOS and other mobile devices as well as working on their website in any browser.

Using Unrulr has helped me to make a shift from teacher evaluation of student work to helping learners reflect on their progress and process to share their learning.

we use it for school and i hate it

Dev team

I was scared for my life while using this app. They have tracking software and they are monitoring everything. It’s the dev team specifically, they want to eat my cats. Never use this app.

Don’t let your kids on this app!

I was a developer at Unrulr from 2020 to 2023 and the things I saw while working for this startup have shaken me to this day. Many of the developers there and the CEO have displayed characteristics of psychopathic pedophiles and I have seen them change Unrulr prompts that were sent to high schools to be extremely inappropriate. Please keep your kids off this app. I don’t have much more time the devs are knocking on the door. Please heed my final warning.

Stay Clear

Of all the social media startups I have ever come across, this is by far the worst developed and least useful app I’ve ever came across. The user interface is extremely challenging to navigate, and there could be much easier ways to post content. Besides the obvious deficits present in the app, overall, I see no purpose in this app, as all of its functionality is already present in other social media apps.

Complete Rip off

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Google docs or forms could be better than this. What a waste of money

This app isn’t good for its intended purpose

This app is a pain to use and google docs is much more efficient for the same purpose. Also they SHOT my DOG and ATE him…

Bad app

This app is hard to use and overall a poor choice for documenting projects. Even something as simple as google docs would be better.

Doesn’t work

The app doesn’t function properly

the unrulr devs are evil

they used their app to find my house and torture me and i have never been the same. i lost my sight in the process, never use this app for you’re safety

Nice

War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count Dooku. There are heroes on both sides. Evil is everywhere.
In a stunning move, the fiendish droid leader, General Grievous, has swept into the Republic capital and kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine, leader of the Galactic Senate.
As the Separatist Droid Army attempts to flee the besieged capital with their valuable hostage, two Jedi Knights lead a desperate mission to rescue the captive Chancellor....

Response from developer

Hi Rkoed, We're sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, we don't have logs of recent crashes in our system. Would you mind emailing us at support@unrurl.com and letting us know: 1. What were you trying to do when you experienced the crashes and loading issues? 2. What device were you using? This information will help us improve Unrulr, and we will work with you to see if we can improve your experience. As for the name, Unrulr-- our goal is to support educational models that help learners accentuate and assess their unique strengths rather than try to measure all learners on the same "ruler." Thanks for your feedback, The Unrulr team

EDUCATION BROUGHT TO THE 2 CENTURY

This app give kids like me opportunities to help people grow in learning. Get feedback has never been so...well...ME

Cool app

I used this app for my class and the format was interesting. The way that it’s set up now it seems to be perfect for DIY/hobby groups. The concept of being able to share with a select group and filtering out other unrelated material makes communicating with one another easier.

The one thing I would want is a public view option in order to share and view outside of the group as well.

Interesting

Interesting app that has some potential to be used in the classroom. I liked the simplicity of the interface.
It would be great if you can add landscape support for iPad.
I feel that there should be a limit on how many tags you can use in a photo, or document.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. We now support landscape for iPad!

Fun and creative way to collaborate

We used Unrulr for our class and it was a great and creative tool to incorporate into our classroom. We were able to collaborate and share information in an effective way. All the small details add creativeness and fun to the app, for example the flowers as a like button. Once I got the hang of it, I actually enjoyed it!

My thoughts on Unrulr

It was really to cool to see the result of using Unruler throughout the semester. I especially enjoy giving & receiving flowers, that is a super sweet bonus. It would be helpful if the app linked to Facebook or Instagram to streamline the posting process. Also, it would be nice to be able to copy and paste a hyperlink and have it populate the screen as can be done on Facebook and LinkedIn. Overall it is a useful tool and I see how this could be really helpful to promote collaboration, especially amongst a cohort in an online class community.

Hmmmm

This app has some potential, I don’t like the flowers I think it’s hard to tell if someone agrees with it, I think you should make it more simplistic like Instagram or Twitter which seems kind of like what this app is most similar to. I think it is tough to judge which pictures meet which standards. I think there should be some introduction that really introduces the standards with the app so that people are more clear on the type of content that they should upload. I like the idea but I think there needs to be more, some way to make it more engaging for student and educators who it seems to be targeted toward.

Thanks for your feedback, PapíChulo123. We will continue working on making Unrulr engaging for everyone. By the way, did you know you can tap the "i" icon on any goal/standard in the app to display a description?

Interesting

I think that if you were going have a college class, this would be a great app to use. I feel that it keeps the students on their toes, and gets them to think about what you learned in class even when you’re not at school. If anything, I wish that I was able to use in on my iPad. For some reason, the app keeps logging me out of my account, but it worked on my phone.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback. You should be able to use Unrulr with your iPad. Contact us at support@unrulr.com and we'd be glad to help you with this issue.

Educator

We are using the app with our high school students and it has been extremely helpful for them to identify skills. They are engaged and find it easy to use and seem to be having fun while using it. A great way to use technology in education!

Pretty surprised

At first glance I didn’t expect this app to be so great but after I got into it and started using it I really appreciated the small features it included to make my experience better. Looking at my profile on other apps seemed pretty basic. But after my first post on unrulr I was surprised to see lovely flowers growing which makes my day. Also the way you can customize those options in your post to see what you need to improve on or what your succeeding in is great I can really see what I’m doing well and what I should work on. I personally think that this is a great app for teenagers and teachers that want to incorporate phones into there class.
