Wildly inconsistent readings
My reading changed from 100 um to 750 um just by moving the test strip from a black background to a white background. I did this several times with the same crazy change. I emailed Berkeley Fit three times and received no response. Terrible customer service.
Has login issues, poor scale
Each time I use my google login I get a “oops something went wrong (500)” error. The website also throws ajax errors at me. Yet, the data is still being stored, as I can eventually see results recorded by the phone on the website.
The app’s ability to read a strip consistently is pretty flaky. Moving back and forth between dark and light backgrounds causes the same strip to jump from 100 to 325 and back again.
Realistically my reading is somewhere between the two but they limit this to a level scale which causes these large jumps.
The app desperately needs consistent color correction and a finer grained scale option. I understand some folks want the simplicity of high, meduim, low readings, but I would rather have more detail since I am frequently right between values. The large jumps make it hard to see if I am making small improvements or not.
The “settings” menu is almost entirely help/faq entries, with only one setting for switching from micromols to mg/dl buried way at the bottom.

Doesn’t work
The automatic picture of the test strip function just doesn’t work. I would love for someone from Berkeley to contact me so that we can fix this and I can amend my review.
Very poor execution. Cannot sign with verification code.
The app does not accept the code BF sends to my email. Useless.
