Update Please

I really enjoy the app and how it allows for organizing items of interest. Only disappointment is the last update was 2 years ago.

Great resource

Although these documents are available from open sources, the app organizes them in a way that makes it easy to search for them and quickly display them. I don’t use it super often, but it’s the first place I look when I need one of the documents it includes.

One minor quibble is that the formatting makes for slow reading. It’s straight text, kinda jammed together. I suspect (don’t really know) that it’s a result of the developer’s reliance on a database engine rather than on something like MS Word, which would allow for nicer formatting.

But that’s a small thing. I’ve had this app for many years throughout its updates, and always make sure it’s downloaded to any new iOS device I’ve upgraded to.

Important US documents in one place

Great way to learn US history. When I have a few minutes or just want a break. Beats spending time on social media. Want to set my adult and college-age children up with this. So happy to find this app!

worthless App

No way to find or look up anything. Try something simple like search for "Constitutional Amendments and it will come up with nothing? not worth a buck. I do wish the USA Manual would get sorted out and work again it was very helpful

Response from developer

The search feature searches the actual text of the documents (or only the document titles if you prefer.)

Great app

Gets the job done. I love reading the 18th century documents when I’m bored.

Wonderful Collection

Pay no attention to the negative comment left by George Orr, who was apparently seeking something entirely different and then downgraded it for not meeting his expectations. I found it to supply a rich collection of documents fundamental to the formation and understanding of the United States. Although the interface could be more made a bit flexible regarding things like font size and background, it is truly is a bargain for $.99.

Great Collection

These documents present a fascinating map of our U.S. history-even those that preceded the Revolutionary War but impacted our Constitution and Bill of Rights. If you only purchase this app to have a handy reference for the words to the Star Spangled Banner, it is a great value.

Biased

I have allready deleted this app. It's direction is NOT neutral at all. All I wanted was a list of documents and what they say. This has a emphasis that I did not like. The interface is not visually pleasing to me with lots of colors and directions to do other stuff with the app. I just wanted a list. This is not it.

Response from developer

There is no bias to the app at all. It includes documents which were influential to US History, and does not include any commentary on whether the documents are good, bad, or neutral. It is a searchable list; users have the ability to make their own comments and highlights, but those are only in the that user's specific device, and not uploaded or shared with anyone.

Outstanding

This app lists in detail documents that I didn't know existed. For their next project I wish they would provide the Uniform Code of Military Justice along with rules of engagement for different areas of conflict. Thanks for the great app.

Nice collection of docs

Nice to have all the documents in one app. Searching them is hard. The search capabilities of the app are immature which lowers the usefulness of the app for me. For example, if your looking at the list level where you only see the titles, then your only able to search the titles. Also, the search controls vanish every time you search. You have to press the search button each time to display the search contours and then press the search button on the search panel to move to the next hit.

Response from developer

Please select the "Search only Document Titles" radio button in order to limit your search to only terms within the document titles.

Excellent resource

The range of documents in this app is comprehensive yet very well organized. An outstanding resource!

U.S Historical Documents

The existance of many of these documents have been gradually forgotten by many Americans over the past 40 years; this is very unfortunate. For those of you who are unable to rattle off the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence or are unable to recall the preamble to the Constitution, this app is for you; read 1-2 documents at a time and over time, you will feel better about a lot of things. Oh, BTW; it's as entertaining as it us enlightening...
