About
USA Times Car is the in-vehicle driver companion app for USA Times, a Manhattan-only black-car service.
This app is designed for USA Times drivers operating company-owned vehicles. A USA Times manager PIN is required to pair the iPhone to a vehicle on first launch; without it the app cannot be used. If you are a driver seeking access, please contact USA Times directly.
For drivers, the app provides:
— Shift management with PIN sign-in and closing-odometer end-of-shift
— Today's roster of dispatched trips assigned to you
— Joyride broadcast offers — first driver to accept gets the ride
— Live trip status updates (enroute → arrived → on trip → completed)
— Background location pings so dispatch and the rider see your car move
— Apple Maps integration for pickup and dropoff navigation
— Rider contact info (name, phone, photo) per the relationship-driven service model
— Manager-led device pairing — the iPhone belongs to the car, not the driver
The interface uses oversized tap targets and high-contrast typography designed for in-vehicle use in sunlight or at night. The app auto-switches to a dark theme by time of day. Each driver may choose English or Spanish from the in-app Account screen; the entire app reflows in their preferred language and the choice follows them across vehicles.
USA Times Car is purpose-built for company-owned fleet iPhones and is not intended as a personal-device app or for general public use.
