Crossword only getting 2 free per week, STILL NO RESPONSE
When first opening the app to play the main crossword, it says I get 3 free for the week. But after playing one, upon next opening the app, it says I have only 1 more this week. When I play this second game, when I open the app again in the same week, it will say I’m out of games this week. Summary:
I only get 2 of 3 games!

Changes
The changes they just made to a different format suck! Please please please change it back. Went from 5 stars to 1 star real fast.
Ruined playability on iPads
I’ve been playing USA Today crosswords for many years, including as a paid digital USA Today subscriber. I recently took a hiatus but played a crossword yesterday. During my break, they completely destroyed the playability on iPad by completing changing the user interface.
The crossword itself in needlessly too large such that you cannot see the entire crossword without scrolling. When you do scroll, you can no longer see the clues. This means users have to be constantly scrolling up/down, first reading a clue then scrolling down to where one might enter an answer.
Simply put, the current iteration is unplayable on an iPad, and probably on an iPhone as well.

Awful changes
What the heck did the do. The app was great before. The interface is terrible now. For example, the keyboard not being integrated means it blocks half the screen, and scrolling down in the crossword blocks the actual clue! And you have to scroll up to click to the next clue. It’s also web based now as opposed to being in app. What is this! I’ve been paying for this for a while but I’ll probably unsubscribe and uninstall. Terrible update.

Cleaner Design??
In no way is this a cleaner design. The screen’s cluttered with added suggestions below. I had a hard time even knowing how to get to the crossword puzzle to begin with. The board is so big I can just barely see the clue at the top of my iPad and still get the bottom of the puzzle in the screen above the keyboard for the end of the “across” clues. The arrows to skip to the next puzzle are at the top of the screen, a long ways from the keyboard. It amazes me that apps get updated to look better but lose half their functionality. It’s not just this one. I’ll be looking for a better crossword app and canceling my subscription.
