Worst Ever
It blows my mind that a company can put out something this deficient. It shows a total lack of integrity and concern for the user. This app is an absolute joke! Very difficult to navigate, very difficult to get to the puzzle. When you do get to the puzzle, they’ve moved the clue to the top which is not a natural place to look. They don’t have buttons to navigate to the next word. If you hit the space bar it’ll change either up or down, but it doesn’t take you to the next word. This app is so lacking. It is just disgusts me. You would think they would have some quality control and serious testing before releasing a new app. Supposedly they’re aware of the problems and they’re going to come out with a classic version that corrects the problems. I’ll be holding my breath.

Bring back the old app
It was so much easier to use and enjoy before the update. Now games don’t fit on the screen and it takes longer to access all of them. I’m so disappointed.
Hate the new interface
I loved this app prior to recent updates. I can’t even view the full puzzle on my phone. Just not a fan and planning to cancel my subscription.
Latest update
This last update makes it difficult to use because it is no longer formatted to fit the screen without scrolling up and down to see the blanks or to see the clue when you get to the bottom of the puzzle. It’s really a pain.

The new update stinks. I used to play everyday and now the puzzles time out and some don’t even appear. It’s not reliable. Very disappointing.

Update has ruined the app
Please undo this update, it’s so bad and so much worse that it’s hard to believe the update isn’t a joke. The crossword pre-update was such a nice, simple, easy to navigate, relaxing puzzle. The redesign is the exact opposite. Cancelling my subscription because the games are unplayable now.
Was fine, now impossible to use
The update ruined what was once a good app. I don’t understand why they thought this was an acceptable release, unless they’re intentionally making it miserable to force you to pay for the premium app. Terrible changes, very clunky, crossword doesn’t fit on one screen and you have to scroll down to read the clues then scroll up to type.

Unplayable
So incredibly difficult to smoothly play a puzzle. Scrolling up, scrolling down, you can’t hit next with most scrolling down again. I will not continue to play until this changes. Awful.
Please revert!
The new version is awful! I can’t see the whole puzzle, it’s hard to navigate, it’s harder to advance to the next clue, it’s harder to read and interact with the puzzle itself. If they don’t revert back I’ll cancel my subscription.
New update is awful
The new update is an atrocity. Not user-friendly at all. The window to play the games is smaller, convenient buttons have moved away from the keyboard. Fire whoever signed off on this.
New update… Not good
The old UI was much better. The black / neon overhaul is overwhelming and feels incongruent with the types of games being offered. The typeface on the daily crossword is too large for the phone screen, making it so you have to scroll back and forth to see what you’re typing and what the hint is. Removing the feature that immediately moves you to the next word when you finish one was a bad call. Overall, the old interface and features were way better. I understand that the intention was probably to shine equal amount of lights on the other games, but this wasn’t the way to do that. I actually am less likely to play *any* of the games with this update. Love USA Today’s daily crossword, but I probably won’t be playing it until the UI is overhauled again.

New layout
I have been a subscriber just for the daily crossword for years and I just canceled my subscription because the new crossword layout is that bad
New Update Is Awful
The new interface for this app is horrible to use. Puzzles used to be easy to play and navigate. I couldn’t even finish a crossword simply because of the frustration from trying to navigate the clues. I’ll pass on this for now. Canceling my subscription pronto.
Redesign failure
The latest redesign has completely ruined the experience. You need to scroll to see clues in the lower areas of the puzzle. Wish they would revert all the design. They managed to screw up an extremely simple game
New update is HORRIBLE
This new update is honestly diabolical. Give us the old, easy-to-maneuver layout back!
Bad Update
I liked the previous version. New version doesn’t work well on iPhone. Clues go away when you scroll on the Quick Cross. Makes game frustrating.
This update is no good
Please just let me have the old app back. The move forward to next clue doesn’t work and the puzzle moves up and down with annoying see through space that shows behind in neon. It’s terrible!
The new design is awful :(
The old standalone crossword experience was amazing. The new redesign/unification is horrible. Completely unusable. I hope your product team considers reverting back.
