Utsikt

Utsikt is a calm, fast way to discover photography on the Fediverse, the decentralised social network. Sign in with your Pixelfed account, or start looking right away without one. SERVERS AS PLACES Visit any Pixelfed server and see what's trending there today, this month or this year, and which photographers stand out. Find new servers in the official directory and pin your favourites as tabs. HASHTAGS ACROSS SERVERS A hashtag is gathered from several servers and merged, so you see more than your own server's photos. BUBBLES Gather hashtags and accounts in rooms of your own – say, Nature with #birds, #landscape and #macro. Each bubble is in time order and tells you when you're caught up. REAL FILTERING Hide hashtags, words and accounts, boosts from certain accounts, or images without a description. Filters work in every feed, whatever the server supports. ACCESSIBLE FROM THE START Image descriptions are marked ALT, VoiceOver reads each post clearly and text follows your text size. When you post, Utsikt reminds you about image descriptions, and on iPhone with Apple Intelligence it can suggest descriptions and hashtags – made on the phone, so the photo never leaves it. CREATIVE COMMONS IN SIGHT Photos under a Creative Commons licence are marked CC, and you can choose to see only those. FEEDS THAT END No algorithms. Everything is in time order, and Utsikt tells you when you're caught up and remembers where you left off. AND WHAT YOU'D EXPECT Like, comment, boost, and follow people and hashtags, and see who follows you. Post photos with captions and hashtag sets, edit and delete your posts, and see what's happened in Activity. Pick your own accent colour. PRIVACY Utsikt collects no data about you. No tracking, no ads, no analytics. Everything goes straight between your iPhone and the servers you choose. Utsikt works with Pixelfed and also shows photos from Mastodon servers.
