About
UV Hour tells you two things a weather app never will: when today's UV actually gets dangerous where you are, and what time you personally need to be covered.
It is not an index. It is a deadline.
HOW IT WORKS
Answer four questions about your skin — no account, no email. UV Hour pulls the hourly UV forecast for your location, works out how fast your skin type burns under it, and gives you one tight window to watch out for, with the exact clock time to get in the shade.
THE TIMER
Start it when you step outside. It counts your exposure, tells you when to turn over, and sounds when you have had enough — with the app closed and your phone locked. Everything is scheduled up front as a local alert, so it fires whether or not the app is running.
Live Activity on the Lock Screen. Widgets on the Home Screen, the Lock Screen and in StandBy.
BUILT ON YOUR SKIN, NOT AN AVERAGE
Your Fitzpatrick phototype and the surface you are on — grass, sand, water, snow — both change the answer. UV Hour uses the real UV forecast from MET Norway, not a fixed daily number.
There is deliberately no sunscreen setting. Sunscreen reduces the damage you take, but it is not a way to buy more minutes in the sun, and the WHO is explicit that it must not be used as one.

PRIVACY
No account. No email. No advertising. Your coordinates are rounded to about a kilometre before they are sent to the forecast service, and nothing is linked to an identity.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT THIS IS
UV Hour is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. It estimates exposure for unprotected adult skin from a public forecast and your own answers. It cannot see the sunscreen you applied, the shade you sat in, or any medication that makes you burn faster. It is not for use by or for children.
There is no safe amount of UV. The shorter the exposure, the better. If in doubt, cover up.
