How long can you stay out before your skin starts to burn? Zenit answers that, in plain language, for the person actually standing there. CLOUD IS NOT SUNSCREEN This is the one thing almost every UV app gets wrong. Cloud scatters visible light far more than it absorbs ultraviolet — a completely overcast sky often passes 90% of the day's UV. Zenit draws what the UV would be under a clear sky right alongside what it actually is, so on a grey afternoon you can see the two lines sitting on top of each other. That is the afternoon people get caught out. NOT JUST A NUMBER A UV index of 7 means nothing if you don't already know the scale. Zenit tells you what it means for your skin: the band, the sky, and roughly how long you have. You should not have to pay to see a number your weather app gives away. TIME BELONGS TO THE PLACE Every hour, sunrise and alert is shown in the clock of the place you're looking at, not the phone in your pocket. Check the forecast for somewhere you're travelling to and it simply reads correctly. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT KNOWS Every reading shows when it was taken and where it came from, and goes visibly stale.
