Doesn't work

It always stopped after the first hop, regardless of how long I waited, and the App Support icon in the App Store doesn't connect. No in app support. So it's useless and unsupported.

FAQ

What does v_trace do?

v_trace is a visual traceroute application. It shows a list of network servers from your machine to a target IP address or hostname and attempts to place each server's location on a map. The app helps you visualize your network's path and understand latency.

How does the map display work?

The map display in v_trace features a pin for each network hop. The color of these pins changes from green to red, reflecting the latency of that specific hop. This visual cue helps you quickly identify potential bottlenecks or slow points in your network connection.

Is v_trace free to use?

Yes, v_trace is a free application. It does not have any associated costs for download or usage, and it does not feature in-app purchases or advertisements.

What determines if hops are shown?

The ability to show and determine network hops depends on your network's routing policies. If packets are filtered by your network's configuration, no hops may be determinable or visible within the application.
