About

Emerit works out what the VA already owes you. Special Monthly Compensation, back pay from an earlier effective date, and which of your disability ratings they can no longer cut — each with the federal rule it came from and the date that rule took effect. WHAT EMERIT CHECKS Special Monthly Compensation A separate pay system that sits on top of your combined rating. Most veterans have never heard of it. Emerit asks plain questions about your daily life, then tells you which levels you look eligible for and what each one pays at the current rate. Back pay If your effective date should have been earlier, Emerit works the difference out month by month and shows the arithmetic — not just a total. Rating protection How long you have held a rating decides how hard it is for the VA to move it. Held five years, they can still reduce it, but they have to show real, lasting improvement — not one good exam day. Held ten years, the service connection is safe short of fraud, though the percentage can still move. Held twenty years, that level is locked. Emerit counts the years for you and names the rule each rating has reached. Combined rating VA math is not addition. Fifty and thirty do not make eighty. Emerit runs the real table in 38 CFR 4.25, including the rounding step that decides the percentage you are actually paid. Claim clock Where an open claim sits, how long it has been there, and whether that is normal for the stage it is in. A packet you can print Every figure with its citation, laid out to hand to a VSO or an attorney. EVERY NUMBER SHOWS ITS WORK No black boxes. Each figure names the regulation it came from and the date that version took effect — so you can check it, or hand it to someone who will. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account. No sign-in. Nothing leaves your phone. Emerit has no server and asks for no personal information. WHAT EMERIT IS NOT Emerit is a reference tool. It does not file claims, does not write to the VA, and does not represent you. It is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency. PRICING One payment unlocks everything for good, or pay yearly if you prefer. Never a percentage of your back pay.
