What's New in VALDA
1.1
May 20, 2026
A substantial update to VALDA on iPhone and Apple Watch, expanding how you log sessions and giving the watch experience a significant uplift. Flexible workout creation The Train screen has been redesigned around how you actually train. A single tap on Start workout now offers two paths: • Plan — build the session in advance with sets, weights and rest, then execute it. • Do — start lifting immediately and log freely as you go. Either mode lets you add exercises mid-workout, swap one out when the equipment you wanted is busy, and adjust weights at any point. The workout you started follows the structure you chose; nothing locks you out. A complete Apple Watch experience The Apple Watch app has been substantially expanded. Logging from the wrist is now responsive enough to be a primary input, not a secondary one. • Pause, resume and discard workouts directly from the watch — useful for interruptions, equipment changes, or scrapping a session that isn't working. • A plate calculator appears automatically for barbell exercises, showing the exact plates required per side. • Native scroll indicators and a tap-to-scroll chevron make it obvious when there is more content below the visible area. • Add exercises, swap them, or skip them straight from the watch. • Add additional sets to an ad-hoc exercise when you decide to do more than planned. • Improved offline reliability — if the watch temporarily loses contact with your phone, mid-workout actions are queued and retried for up to seven days. Your data reconciles automatically once the connection is restored. • Background heart rate continues to be captured during a workout, even when the watch face is asleep. • Sign-in has been streamlined and now binds reliably on first authentication. • A cleaner idle screen shows today's programme day at a glance, with quick access to the exercise library, recent exercises and active workouts. Programme tracking accuracy Programme progression — the "next day" indicator that appears on both your dashboard and the watch — is now consistently accurate after completing or deleting a workout. Several edge cases that caused the dashboard and watch to disagree have been resolved. Refinements throughout Numerous small improvements across the app: • Primary buttons on the Train screen are now clearly legible in both light and dark mode. • Workout completion no longer leaves stale state on the watch. • Sync conflict notifications can be dismissed when the underlying issue has resolved itself. • Exercise default weights now inherit from previous sets when a programme prescribes a placeholder. • Spacing, typography and contrast have been audited and tightened across most screens. Compatibility VALDA 1.1 requires iOS 17.0 or later and watchOS 10.0 or later. The Apple Watch companion app is included with the iPhone app — pair from your Watch app on the iPhone after installation. If you encounter any issues, please get in touch through the in-app feedback option on the Settings screen. Thank you for using VALDA.
